Okay, to make a long story short. We applied for the K1 visa. Everything went smoothly, they approved our petition in exactly 5 months, we submitted all our paper work for packet 3, submitted the medical results and had our interview. Well, my fiance went on his interview by himself and I regret that part so so much. From what my fiance told me is that they put us in AP because they wanted to further examine my financial paperwork. I make more than required amount and I submitted everything that Visajourney told me; paystubs, employer letter, bank statements, tax transcripts...everything. Now we have been in Ap for a month and neither the Port-au-prince Consulate nor the National Visa Center can tell me what exactly we are in AP for. Whenever I ask them, they say its illegal to tell me the reason and all we can do is wait. They said it could take two weeks or 6 months....6 months!!!!! for just knowing why????? I just want my king to be here...

PS. I wrote my congresswoman, and they told her the same thing...sad :( :(

iam with u in this situation, but to be honest, u did not need to write to congressman or congreswomen, it always make more trouble for the case, USCIS they are nothing to do with any person, rules n regulations are above the all, so be patience n wait for their response, hope for the best.

Don't worry. After my fiance had his interview, he as well was put under AP for 5 months (in Yemen). They won't tell you anything. You just have to wait. I eventually emailed my Congressman after the 5 months and he got the visa. So I do not know if was time for him or the Congressman actually did something. Stay strong!

What's funny is that while I was told at the interview that my visa was approved and that I should get my passport with the visa in 7 days, I got concerned when it didn't come for two weeks. So I told my fiance to call the NVC for info. They then told him I was put under AP. I think it's ridiculous that 1) They first approved me and promised my visa in 7 days 2) WE have to call and ask about my case; they didn't lift a finger to email/call me to tell me I'm under AP. If we hadn't call, we would have never known... Today's the 19th day since my interview, and I don't' know how much longer I'll have to wait.
