Please read the link. AOS is the next step for you when you arrive in US and marry your fiance/e.

You will have to fill out the forms for AOS (Adjustment of Status). You will be only able to work when you receive your EAD (employment authorization document) and SS# (social security number). usually people fill out for EAD and AP (Advace Parole) along with the AOS forms because GC takes longer and this way people can start working while they wait for the GC approval.

PS: Waiting time for EAD and AP is 2 to 3 months from the moment you sent the AOS forms and papers. GC approval takes longer (5 months up to 1 year).

If being able to work immediately is a must, get married now and petition for a CR-1 spousal visa, that leads to an immediate greencard upon entry.

That sounds like a outstanding idea, less hassle over all.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.
