Hi all,

I live in Maryland. My 485 has been pending for almost 1.5 years now. I had once gotten an AP by just going to Baltimore (walk-in). They approved it right there and said I will receive it in the mail in one week, which I did. I travelled on that and everything is fine.

I plan on travelling again...question is, are they still allowing walk-ins at Baltimore to get APs? Or not any more? Any ideas???

Nope, not anymore. USCIS in Baltimore told us back in September that we could apply in person two weeks before we travel. We purchased airline tickets for October, went back to Baltimore and they changed the rules so we had to change our tickets. We e-filed our AP application and it took 60 days.

Are you waiting for a background check? We'v been waiting since September 2005.

I thikn that is what is taking them so long, back ground check. Its funny, we filed in September 04 and still waiting. so you said you e-filed and it took 60 days then to receive AP??

Did you have your AOS interview? Have you checked the status by making an Infopass appointment? If not, I would do so right away. Or contact Congressman Wynn's office. They have been helpful.

Our receipt for the AP said 30-60 days to process. We made an Infopass appointment on the 60th day to check the status. The officer told us the Benefits center haven't even touched our petiton yet and they would send them an e-mail. Guess what? ???? We got the AP in the mail in 4 days later. Go figure.
