K1 Visa granted in Dubai but want to go back home to Philippines before going to US

I'm in Dubai but Filipino citizen. My fiance will file K1 Visa in California and he'll put my Dubai address instead of Phils so I will be processed in the embassy here. If the visa will be granted here in Dubai, can I go back home to Philippines before going to US? Since the visa will be valid for 6 months?

Yes.

As long as you enter the US before the expiration date on the visa, you can travel anywhere before coming into the country for your wedding, . yes.gif

Got it! Many thanks!

but what if were planning to have a wedding ceremony in the Phil so we can celebrate with our families before I go to US and get married again there to fulfill the requirement? Will there be problems since technically I will be entering US as married but was granted K1 visa

Yes, you'll have a very large problem if you choose this route. The K-1 is only for unmarried persons who will be married in the U.S. You cannot get married outside the U.S. and then try to come into the country using the K-1. You'll very likely be turned away at POE. There is no "married again." Get married in the U.S., file the adjustment of status documents with the advanced parole, receive AP, and then go back for a big party with your family after you've fulfilled the requirement of the K-1.

Part One: The K-1 Visa Journey:

USCIS Receipt of I-129F: January 24, 2012 | Petition Approval: June 15, 2012 (No RFEs)
Interview: October 24, 2012 - Review | Visa Delivered: October 31, 2012

Part Two: Entry and Adjusting Status:

POE: November 18, 2012 (at SFO) - Review
Wedding: December 1, 2012 | Social Security: New cards received on December 7, 2012.
AOS Package (I-485/I-765/I-131) NOA1: February 19, 2013 | Biometrics Appt.: March 18, 2013
AP/EAD Approved: April 29, 2013 | Card Received: May 6, 2013 | AOS Interview Appt.: May 16, 2013 - Approved Review Card Received: May 24, 2013

Part Three: Removal of Conditions:

Was thinking of not filing for marriage certificate after the ceremony in the Philippines so technically were still unmarried.. we just want a ceremony with our family and close friends back home because we dont have plans of coming back to Phil for a long time after we get married in the US. Thanks a lot!

Don't do that. You should not have a mock wedding ceremony either. You need to have the wedding ceremony in America and then you can go back home and do it again if you so wish.

I don't want you to end up like us and filing a I-130/CR1 after filing a I-129F/K1.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

Uh oh! Thanks everyone for making it clear to me.. I guess I really have to wait and just come back to the Phil for a wedding with family and friends.
