Hi all,

My fiance (USC) is applying for my K1 visa and everything is all filled and ready to go. She is worried about one section. She has been on vacation with my in the UK for the past 5 months and has just returned last sunday. She does not have a job but we want to send the forms off ASAP. Will the fact that she puts unemployed affect the application. Has anyone else been through the same thing?

Also she does not have any cheques and she needs to order them. If she uses someone elses cheque will that be ok?

Thank you.

Matt :D

Their is nothing wrong putting in "unemployed" during a gap. Yes, she can use a different persons check to pay her fees.

YMMV

Hi Matt,

I'm in the same situation, have been in the UK with my fiance for the past 5 months, so I put unemployed. I don't think it will matter. I'm sure that later you'll have to prove she can support you, but you can also have someone sponsor you (her parents perhaps) but I don't think you should worry about it at this point.

You can use someone elses cheque but make sure she puts her name on the cheque somewhere, like on the Memo line.

Good luck!

Jackie
