Congratulations and yes your wife's paperwork will be forwarded to the embassy. I am not sure but some embassies schedule their interviews (which was our case) and they sent out a packet to my husband for his medical and police certificates. Once he completed them and resubmitted them to the embassy they scheduled his interview. Interviews do take some time as well so good luck on the remainder of your journey.

HCMC will not inform anyone.

USC and Beneficiary will need to call/email for this information.

HCMC will send Pack3 when it's ready to Beneficiary. This may take a few weeks. Quicker if Beneficiary stops by HCMC and pick-up in person.

I am doing the CR1/IR1. I thought packet 3 step was already taken care of with NVC? Or is there an additional step?

It takes some time for them to actually process the case after they receive it. Usually a couple months.

Once they do process the case and set an interview date, they will mail packet 4 to your wife.

Thanks! Do you remember what was in packet 4. Are the instructions in Vietnamese or English?

The instruction is in both Vietnamese and American but your wife has to write English in the forms and speak English with the CO in the interview.
