St. Lukes requires a personal evaluation (psych evaluation) by a St. Lukes psych doctor for anyone who has had an annulment due to psychological incapacitation, has scars on their wrists, has excess tattoos, has admitted to past illegal drug use, etc. A psych evaluation costs P1000 and it takes less than one hour. A psych evaluation will cause a delay of at least a few days (from the time of the evaluation until the completion of the medical).

If the psych doctor believes it's necessary, the person will be referred to another doctor for a psych test. The cost of a psych test is P3000 and it takes a few hours. Psych tests are given at an outside location. A psych test will cause a two or three week delay in completing the medical (from the time of the psych test until the completion of the medical).

St. Lukes will reschedule the interview and the petition's expiration date won't be a problem.

thanks for the info. but my friend is single, dont have any psychological issues nor anything sort of thing. she was worked abroad for a long period of time, and thats it. i dont see any reason for psych test or some sort of evaluation.

do you think this is just a random check for anyone going to interview and medical?

knowing that my friend will be back to st. lukes nov 23 for personal evaluation and the interview date is nov. 26, the lady at st lukes said they are the one to re schedule her appointment, so does it mean that we dont have to worry calling the embassy to re-schedule? or we still need to call embassy and inform them?

I also had my medical last November 14 and 15. I was told to come back November 26 for psycho evaluation. The reason given was in my annulment decision although it was my ex-husband who has a psychological disorder, they read from the decision that i was a battered wife. The result of the evaluation will be after 3 days.

I have never heard of a random referral for the psych evaluation.

During her medical, she must have answered one of the doctor's questions in a way that raised concern. Does she have a history of depression? Has she ever had thoughts of suicide? Thoughts of cutting herself? A bad breakup with a boyfriend? Has she had an abortion? A miscarriage? Does she have a lot of piercings? Is there any reason why a doctor might think that she could be a danger to herself or to others?

Your friend should ask the psych doctor the reason she was referred for a psych evaluation. I hope you will let us know the outcome of her psych evaluation and the reason why she was referred for a psych evaluation in the first place.

St. Lukes will take care of rescheduling her interview.

i dont know what really transpire at st. lukes for my friend's medical. she dont have depresseion, she dont break up with bf, she dont have scars, she dont have abortion, etc.. etc. the only thing she told me was that when they ask her if she smoke. she told them no, but when they ask her if she drink, she said yes. but i guess my friend and the doctor just misinterpret her answer. her drinking is not really a habit, its occasional drinking. but i guess thats "red flag" right there. i keep my communication open with my friend and she will keep me posted what will happen to the psych eval on nov. 23.

to all of you, thank you so much for the input and suggestions. i will keep you guys posted. to eternalcompanion if your fiancee wanted to get in touch with my friend, you can send me email and i will give you her number. she is willing to meet new friends.

thanks again vj members and god bless us all in our journey.
