Getting Frustrated with USEM

Do you happen to know if those USA numbers allow me to use the same extension numbers to reach an IV rep?

I really wish I could relax at this point, it's just stressful that we're coming close to the holiday season and I really want to be able to spend Christmas with my girls. Had the non-USEM processes gone smoothly she would've been on her way here months ago, and yet here we are and my fiance is at a breaking point due to the stress (which in turn is causing additional stress on me I suppose). I'm trying to relax for sure, but when I just want straight answers when it's something so very basic and simple that needed a follow-up, it's really hard to be patient after being in this process for so long and seeing quite a few people getting their approvals and marriages after applying the same time we got our NOA2. Trying to breath here, promise! :)

Calling and calling and calling is not going to speed things up... sort of like how long does it take to boil water and taking the lid off the kettle all the time to check.... it will happen when it happens.

You can track the passport visa on the embassy website. If you are not getting new updated info there then nothing has changed... yet.

Take a deep breath and relax. Calling the Embassy won't speed things up. It'll happen when it happens...and it will happen soon.

They'll be in the U.S. for Christmas.

Sorry for the stress everyone, I appreciate the kind words for sure. Things have just come to a major breaking point with my fiance right now, and trying to keep hope together for us. If I'm to be candidly honest, she's having doubts about the whole process, we've been fighting for it for so long that she's talking about potentially stopping it altogether because she misses when things were simpler and our time apart is getting to her (not to mention her cultural sense of obligation to her family). I know saying that around here is practically a death sentence to some, but I'm keeping the faith that things can pull through for us.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and throwing all the prayers I can into the air that some consular officer responsible for our case by chance sees ours and can bless us with a Christmas miracle a little early... :)

You can ask her to do some shopping while waiting for the visa or go to the CFO seminar if she hasn't done so. I wanted my mom to be here before I give birth but that's not going to happen because of the 2-month sputum test delay. I told her since you're just waiting over there for the results might as well use this time to get an executive check-up at St. Luke's Medical Center. Well, it's a good thing she did because the doctors there ordered several more follow-up tests done on her which would have cost me several thousand dollars over here because individual health insurance are not as good as group health insurance coverage.

We haven't even been thinking of the visa, she's just busy taking care of her medical checkups. Try to find something else that would divert her attention from waiting for the visa. For example, if she's trying to get a master's degree over here, she can go to her university and order multiple sealed transcript of records. Universities in US doesn't accept photocopies nor non-sealed envelopes. Make sure she has several extra copies of her NSO birth certificate. If she doesn't know how to drive yet, then she can take driving lessons now as it's hard to use the public transportation over here. Listen to audio CDs about American Accent Training. Anything she can think of that would help her transition to her new life over here.

Good luck to you!

The whole situation here has been rather taxing emotionally and mentally on me, goes without saying. I'm keeping my head up and focusing on the good of everything we've been through thus far, staying positive and praying that the Consular Officer assigned my case has a "hot streak" and approves us very soon. It's all I can really do at this point, and in the meantime I'm going to not waste a minute with my fiance. It's been an amazing journey so far, and as we keep going forward even despite the pain and struggle we've had to endure, I'm putting one foot in front of the other and reminding her all she means to me.

Congratulations! I know it was all frustrating for you. Actually, the way the Philippines processes gender corrections among others has recently changed. This could of possibly added to confusion with government employees that just aren't used to the new system. Still, no excuse for the mix ups. I say new, but it really isn't too new. Still, for the longest time, it took an attorney, complete physical, court hearing/s, court order, LCR forwarding to NSO blah blah blah...My fiancee went through this. It put her through unneeded stress, cost us more money for something that wasn't our fault, and it took 8 months! It could have even taken a year! We were both glad enough to catch many months to our planning to file our petition, but then of course, they completely changed the system to make it easier months after we completed the correction process. A nightmare I am thankful to put far behind me.
