When you have a culture with servitude and docility as a principal component it is no surprise that you like their "service" better. Consider the fact that many foreign airlines impose restrictions on how old their attendants can be and even whether or not they can be married. While you may balk and blame "unions," consider also the corresponding rights and freedoms the employees of US carriers have and the abuses that foreign employees often endure.

FWIW - Delta has always been fine with me.

*yawn*

Don't justify bad attitude with drivel like this. In commerce, the customer is king. You obviously don't run a business.

You know what's great? Getting someone fired for making you angry. I mean it too - we call managers, we write letters and we do it for outstanding good employees as well as outstanding bad employees. The managers are always glad to hear from us, but most especially when we are letting them know how good their crew is.

We get free food, coupons, gift certificates etc. for doing it too.

Get on websites that review places too. Hammer the bad ones mercilessly and give good recommendations for the companies that put out good service. That's how you get rid of arrogant union employees: their companies go bankrupt because of their lazy arrogance and the assets are bought by people who care about the customer.

Yep. I never take domestic airlines on overseas flights.

Those who defend them probably never tried others. Just hopping from KLM to Delta in Amsterdam is like night and day. I don't think the KLM employees come from a culture of servitude. I think it is because they want to do a good job for their airline.

Want to assemble a group of lazy employees that are no better then their collective average? Unionize them. When the quality of the work you do is the difference between whether you and your family eats or not then your work tends to have a good quality.

Every time i have went to the philippines i have always flown Korean Air. This time around i choose to go with United Airlines to save a few dimes. That was the biggest mistake of my whole visajourney so far. I am going to venture to say that all American owned Airlines are like this one. I cannot stand these Union Card holding B!tch employee's. They are the nastiest rudiest people i have ever had the displeasure of being served by. Each way there and back i had four legs of flights and on ever flight me and Monreal were disrepected by an employee from United Airlines. I have never had this kind of experience on Korean Air. Who the Hell am i going to call to make some serious complaints, oh what a second. If i call United Airlines i get to talk to someone from the philippines at a call center. How the hell can you chew out a philipina? You just cant. I really hate the fact that when someone holds a union card, they can be a B!tch to you and get away with it because they are protected. I will never fly any American owned airline again.

Delta in the last few years has done wonders to improve their international flights, especially to Asia. I haven't had a horrible experience with them yet, thankfully. My last flight on American was rather bland, but I was exhausted and a bit down after leaving my wife behind so I can't blame the airline staff entirely.

KLM is unionized. http://www.klm.com/c...t_opinions.html

Edit: looks like Korean Air and Asiana are too. http://www.koilaf.org/KFeng/engLabornews/bbs_read_dis.php?board_no=7771

I happen to be a big fan of both Korean Air and KLM.

Unions... hmm. Yup I was a Teamster many years ago, but honestly I think the day that unions were really needed has passed, now the unions are the death nil for many companies...

That's interesting, you avoid NAIA/Manila all together? I didn't realize that was an option. We'd still need to fly or ferry from Cebu to CDO or Iligan on our next trip but it's something to think about.

Oh without a doubt. Kal has a flight that leaves Seoul 7or 8 every night Direct to Cebu. I think they have more than that one it's just the one we always fly. Also a flight leaves Cebu every night . I think it's about 1:00 AM

Going thru Manila to get to Cebu is a waste. Not sure what part of the US you live but the ATL-Korea-Cebu total time is about 23 hours. start to finish
