Rant: So i mailed out our petition on November 8th..YAY!! I got delivery confirmation on it (Thank GOD!!) and the post office tried to deliver it on the 10th (which was a saturday) The post office said that a notice had been left stating it needed to be redelivered. Okay..so my rant is this: It has been almost 5 business days and NOTHING has been updated on the postal website. It still says the same thing it did on the day they tried to deliver it..So..I called USCIS and waited 40 minutes just to be told that they couldn't tell me anything and to call back the end of the month!! what the #######!? By the end of the month, my package will have been sent back to me! IS it really that hard for them to see if someone had tried to get my petition? He said "Someone in our mailroom will get it if a notice has been received" REally? that's all you can tell me..and then he tells me wait TWO more weeks!!! I'm sorry if i seem childish. I'm very upset..To think it would take A MONTH almost to know whether or not they even received it!!!Something that should have only taken a few days..I'm in tears. Thanks for listening!

P.S. Word of advice to those who are about to send out a petition: DO NOT mail it close to the weekend!!!

They are never helpful. The whole attitude is that they are doing you a favor by doing anything to assist you in any way to go to the US. Useless people.

Hang in there, our recent package delivered and I do not expect anything from USCIS for about a week or so, they do not jump on it immediately. USPS showed expected deliver date on date sent and on the date scheduled to received I checked their site and stated, receipt being returned to me, IE; delivered. Also check for cancelled check, our K-1 took longer than AOS for a government response.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Did you fill out the form with the petition that authorizes email confirmation? I got a text and email like a week after I mailed. It took around two weeks to receive the paper notice of action from the time I mailed it. I also mailed it on a Saturday and it was confirmed by the post office on Monday. Though sometimes when I mail stuff the tracking updates are not completed just like you said, but the green card eventually comes back. Since you only mailed 8 days ago, I wouldn't be worrying about it at this point.

i know most times they dont look at the mail right away. it usually does not take 2 wks for them to look at it, but it can. you have to be patient, i know its very hard, but its the only thing you can do at this point. try to call next week to see if they have anything yet. everything will be ok.

Hey try to relax as you are in for a long journey. It all sucks but just give it a few ore days. If your check does not clear within 8-10 business days then call them again. At that time then you can decide whether to cancel check and resend packet. I believe you will be okay as the holiday is helping your delay.

Good luck.
