Man Threatens Obama's Life On Facebook, Makes Matters Even Worse During Secret Service Interview

A Florida man who threatened Barack Obama’s life in a Facebook post earlier this month was unrepentant when confronted by Secret Service agents, according to a felony complaint.

Investigators arrived at Christopher Castillo’s Melbourne home last Thursday to question him about a November 1 Facebook post in which he wrote, “That’s the last straw, if he gets re-elected I’m going to hunt him down and kill him watch the life disappear from his eyes.”

When a Facebook friend responded that threatening the president’s life was a crime, Castillo, 28, replied, “I wouldn’t call it a threat but more of a promise, let them come after me… Be more than happy to take a few of them with me.”

After Castillo (seen in the above mug shot) admitted authoring the threats--which were prompted by Obama’s “views on healthcare”--a Secret Service agent asked him “what he would do ‘if the President was standing here right now?’”

Castillo did not hesitate to make matters worse, saying he would “###### slap him, and beat the ###### out of him.” He added that he would “scream and yell at him and tell him he was a terrorist.” When Agent Charles Johnson then told Castillo that his statements were a violation of federal law, Castillo remarked that “it did not matter.”

Castillo was arrested today on a felony complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Orlando. He will remain in custody until pre-trial services officials can outfit him with a GPS monitoring device.

The original threat against Obama can no longer be found on Castillo's Facebook page, which lists his occupation as a car detailer at a BMW dealership in Melbourne.

Threatening someone's life because you don't like them is stupid. This guy's paying the price for not being able to act like a rational human being.

As a politician, as a person holding public office, the last time I checked, the 1st amendment supersedes any Federal law the morons can write to try to protect themselves from things they wish not to hear.

The secret service is in their right to investigate and check the legitimacy of such threats, however calling it a felony is absurd and a blatant abuse of federal power against the constitution.
