So I didn't file taxes for 2011 because I didn't make enough. I keep reading conflicting information on whether or not I need to send an affadavit of support even though my parents are co sponsoring us for financial reasons. I think I want to fill out and send an affadavit anyway, just to be safe. It can't hurt to have one from me and one from my parents, right? So if I didn't file taxes, would sending my w2 from walgreens be enough? I worked as a nanny after quiting walgreens from late September, and from then to January I probably made less than 1500 dollars (yeah, they paid me #######). Any advice is very helpful! Thank you!

You are the primary sponsor even if you made nothing. You will provide a statement explaining why you did not file taxes,i.e. you did not make enough, proof of your lack of income won't hurt, and all the required documents from your parents for them to be co-sponsors as well as an affidavit of support from yourself.

Yes, you will have to fill out the affidavit of support and whoever will be your co-sponsor also has to fill out an affidavit of support. Good luck!

For a K1 visa issued by the embassy in LONDON, they have no need for an affidavit from a fiancé who doesn't qualify. They will have no need to review a w2 from Walgreens that doesn't show even enough to file taxes, which is $9500. If you no longer work at Walgreens, then they aren't your current employer so don't count for that reason also. The embassy may politely take your I-134, but when they see the current income you list, they will move on to your parents as the sponsor. The I-134 does not have the same rules as the I-864 where you will provide one, whether you make enough money or not.

You may send in anything you feel appropriate. It's your application. I'm only explaining London processes vs what might be the norm in Manila, Paris, Or Mumbai. They all do things slightly differently.

I moved your post to the UK forum. Things in London are done in a VERY particular way. After NOA 2, and to avoid confusion, you'll always be better off asking these types of questions in this part of the forum instead of the main K1.

Follow Nich-Nick's advise.
