Obligatory "New Here" post...

Hello VJ! Obviously I am new here, so I wanted to take the time to introduce myself and my situation. I love this site, I have learned so much by reading other people's experiences.

I have just about every roadblock to a K1 visa that I have seen so far, but I know I can get through this with everyone's help. I think the main thing that I am concerned about is the timing of everything. I will visit her in February in Taiwan and then she will visit me in the US in April. She has a B1/B2 visa that doesn't expire until after her trip to the US which is less than 30 days anyway. We plan on filing the I-129F while she is in the US in April. Then she will go back to Taiwan for a few months and get a new passport (hers is old). She will come back to the US towards the end of August on the VWP and stay about 89 days. (We are so excited that Taiwan is now a part of the VWP!) So, that would put her leaving the US mid to late November to go back to Taiwan, where hopefully, we will have our NOA2 and the process will be alomst finished.

Anyway, I'm sure as I have questions I will search this site for answers, and if I can't find answers I will start a new topic and ask. I would just like to know if my timeline sounds possible? We could file earlier in February, but I'm not sure how that would affect her trip in August. I just don't want her interview to interrupt her VWP trip because we won't see each other again until December when I go back to Taiwan. We will both come back to the US in January, hopefully she will come on the K1 at that time and we will get married in February!

Well, I look forward to hearing from anybody, and I want to wish everyone good luck on their journey! If you have already completed your journey, congratulations, and thank you for sticking around this site to help others. I will keep my timeline up to date as I file and go through the process, and if I find I can answer any questions that others may have as it pertains to what I have gone through, I will be glad to help!

Welcome. I like you have found a ton of great advice from VisaJourney. my thoughts to you is keep the airline tickets for your trip to see your fiance. Also keep your fiance's airline ticket for the trip to the US. Also take pictures of both of you together during your visits. We even took a picture of us together holding that day's newspaper showing the paper's date to prove the time the picture was taken. Crazy we have to go through so much documentation but that is how it is. That would be great proof when you file your I-129F form as you have to show you have met each other (face to face) at least once in the two years prior to filing the I-129F.

Hi Jason32! Welcome to VJ and your plans sound good, really good.

I wish that my fiance could visit on VWP as well while we're waiting for our K1 to get approved, but we can't afford it right now. Anyways, best of luck to you guys and if you have any questions, this site is the place to be!
