i have good question for you all,, i am coming to america on k1 visa, if things dont work out, am i allowed to stay in united states? how long must i live there before i can go and come back as i please??, thank you

You have 90 days once you enter the USA to marry the person, and only that person, who brought you to the USA . If you don't marry him/her within that time you must return home to avoid any potential problems or complications.

Once you do marry this person who brought you to the US, you'll file for Adjustment of Status, and then you have to wait until they process and approve your case. To check the processing times, go to the USCIS website and click on your local office (the one closest to the city where you'd be leaving).

Just a question for you: why do you think things aren't going to work out? if you're willing to go through this, you should be sure that you love this person, because the waiting period to get a greencard is not a walk in the park and requires both patience and true love. You may not stay in the US if you don't marry your fiance, and even if you marry, if you get divorced during the two-year period following your AOS approval, you also have to leave. This is because 2 years after you're granted residency you have to file for removal of conditions (the condition being the fact that you're married to a US citizen).

hello.........and an answer according to me....not the legal one ........but its from my heart.........pse dont go to usa for the sake of gaining citizenship............

pseeeeeeeee.......dont......in the beginning itself you are entering into a relationship thinking that it wont workout.......you know dear the percent of couple who remains married in US has come down to 49%...........so dont prepare to be in the majority......and dont be one of the person who enters into the relationship to gain good life in usa ........usa may command better life.....but it have their own problems also...........my best wishes for your future
