Being a New father of a now 2o month old curious little girl.

I have a few thoughts on "child Proofing ones Home"

first of all so many parents or compnaies, push all this fancy Child proofing technology, How-to shows on child proofing, even "professional Child Proofing Consultants" will come into a new parents home and crawl on their hands and knees and give advice on how to properly child proof ones home, buying all kinds of gadgets to lock cabinets, seal doorways, block entrances,

In my recent fresh experience the best way to "Child proof a home for safety" is be an attentive aware parent. Simply spending time and watching never leaving baby alone, and at the age they start to crawl teach them what they can play with , just being a parent will go far in creating a safe home! It is amazing at how much little babies will teach the parents on how to be safe or what to do to insure a safe home;

case in point: she started using her baby chair as a step stool to reach counter tops, if we left any dishes out with dinner ware her little curious hands would reach up and grap forks or spoon, :huh:

So watching her being aware of her developement helps us stay a few steps ahead and prevents any major accidents, of course there are those falls, and running into furniture, & we have locked dangerous cabinets like under the sink, and in the bathroom, we have a gate at the top of our stairway, we always let our baby know about Hot surfaces ect..,

But the best Safety Child proofing of a home starts with just simply being there and aware, not to leave stuff out, Keeping a clean tidy home insures a safe home.
