How was the economic pie shared before Reagan cut top tax rates and how has it been shared since? Besides, top marginal tax rates were 70% then. Different starting point, different debate.

I don't. I just don't think it's fair to take peoples stuff just because they have been clever enough to get more stuff than me .

What you're missing is that the reduction of top tax rates has done squat for the national well-being. It hasn't grown the economic pie but rather it grew the slice of that pie that's taken by the few. Hence, the many had less left to share. I'd be all for top tax rate cuts if that was helping the country the way the proponents of that approach claim it will. Cut the tax rates and job creators will create jobs. We've done this for 12 years now and I must ask as I have many times before: WHERE ARE THE JOBS? Face it, it's not working. It just isn't. It hasn't and it won't. This country did a heck of a lot better when the top tax rate was 50%+ and has been in trouble ever since we started this game of bringing down the top marginal rates. And it's evident not only here but across the developed world. It's high time that productivity gains are shared across the board again rather than being entirely sucked up on the top. Once that happens, economic and job growth will resume.

I really don't see based on the above statement how the rich aren't paying their fair share.
