Hey everyone,

Finally got a chance to update on here. We've mailed off our packet 3. I've booked a medical at Knightsbridge doctors for end of this month. Got my ACPO certificate in hand ready for medical. My fiance in the US has mailed a notarised letter requesting an extension to our NOA2 expiry date (which would be Dec 15th).

How long is ACPO certicate valid for?

How long is medical valid for?

And if and how will the embassy notify us if they extend our petition, and what time frame can we expect them to give us? Do they usually extend petitions by 6 months or is that asking a bit much?!

12 months for police certificate

6 months for medical

Now your case is at the Embassy you don't need to worry about NOA2 expiring. The expiry date is only for the petition to get there.

In general, the medical examination is valid for 12 months and the chest X-ray for 6 months but can be shorter.

The panel physician will advise you further on the day of the medical examination.
