Why did NVC give us a priority date for our CR1 visa?

Got our case complete email from NVC today. Just confused as to why we have a priority date. As far as I understand, priority dates are only relevant to visa categories subject to quota restrictions, i.e. not IR1/CR1 or K1 visas.

Is that correct or am I missing something?

All cases get priority dates. They are simply irrelevant when filing for immediate relatives of US Citizens. No need to think about it at all. Ignore it.

Hi Dat. I don't remember exactly when they were sent, but I know that NVC received the final package on 21 October and we got the case complete email yesterday, 14 November.
