Please excuse me if I am in the wrong section and Hi Everyone!

Please help me with the following questions.

I am a Canadian Citizen (US PR) trying to sponsor my In-laws to Canada. My in-law’s family are 6 members. Can you please give me some information of, How to start this? Can I sponsor them under my name being a Canadian citizen? Since I am here in the U.S. (means I don’t work) can I get supporters from US to provide their bank statements (funds) to show they can support them when they migrated to Canada?

A good place to start would be reading the resources available through Citizenship and immigration Canada: www.cic.gc.ca

They have a great website that tells you basically everything you need to know.

With that said, I don't think in-laws are eligible for sponsorship. I think your husband would need to become a PR of Canada and do the sponsoring. I could be wrong, hopefully your research reveals something different.

You are not able to sponsor your in-laws nor their family. Your husband, if he was a permanent resident or citizen of Canada, would be able to sponsor his parents, grandparents, or any orphaned brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews or grandchildren under 18 years of age as long as they are still living at home and are not married. There is currently a moratorium on accepting any petitions to sponsor parents or grandparents for the next 24 months, though, so if you are planning on moving back to Canada (remember you cannot be a US PR and living in Canada - you can only be resident in one country at a time), by the time your husband is eligible for his own PR status, the queue may once again be open. Also, to sponsor anyone other than your spouse/partner or children, you must be living in Canada at the time.
