CityState Tower Hotel.

CityState is a great hotel but I wouldn't say they were inexpensive by any stretch of the imagination. I think I paid around P2.3k a night there in the off-season. It was a great room though and if you like to gamble they have a small casino. They serve the best lasagna I've ever had which includes my time in Italy. :D

If you hunt around on Agoda you can find deals for around P500 a night if you don't want aircon or hot water. You could probably find an even cheaper place if you don't mind sharing a room with a stranger. I was able to score a deal last February at the GranPrix for around P700 a night for a two week stay.

I guess CityState is inexpensive by my standards because the last two times we were in Manila we stayed at the Hyatt Hotel and Casino!

I'll check out the lasagna at CityState when Chinook and I go to the Philippines early next year.

Chinook loves their bulalo. We might stay there too.

When I travel I always stop thinking about money in American terms. I always judge a value based on the local currency. I definitely agree the CityState is much cheaper compared to most of the other high end hotels in Manila. I don't mind living like a local though. ;)
