Ok so our Waiver has been approved, thank you God, but now they are saying that he needs to retake his medical exams??? I thought the exams were valid for 1 year? it will be one year on Nov 21, but he shouldn't have to retake his exams right until then right? I hope not because this is even more money that we don't have.

Does anyone know how long the exams is valid for? (btw this is out of Santo Domingo, Dom. Rep)

THanks,

They are valid for 1 yr, and the 21st is only a week away and it will take at least 5 days for them to get the results so it makes since to have it done now. You don't want them to put the process on hold again now that it has got back rolling. Sorry to say looks like you will need to have it done now.

depends on the country of course, but perhaps DR changed their policy this year?? Chile changed their exams to 6 months recently in June...maybe it was the same for you? However, if your exame was before the change, it should still be valid!

6 months it is. But what about the vaccinations? My husband thinks that he has to repeat those as well, but I don't think he has to get re-vaccinated, only a physical exam, right???

Does anyone know how long the medical exam lasts for beneficiaries in Italy. Our case will have been in AP for 6 months in 2 weeks. My husband has not received any contact from the Consulate at all. Will they email him? Send his a letter? Call?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you.

have you guys tried contacting the embassy? i know you said he hasn´t been contacted, but have you tried asking the embassy? they should at least be able to tell you how long the medical exam is good for, if it isn´t on their website. other than that i would ask other italians...

In Santo Domingo you cant just call the Dr and get info, and the embassy said it was up to the dr office to determine which vaccines were necessary. They are not controlled at all and have free reign to vaccinate people however they want. They ended up vaccinating my husband with ALL of the shots he took last year. He showed them his record and the Dr still insisted that he take every one of them again. More shots = more money for the Dr. That's how things are in the Dominican :(
