I don't know how she got so careless and didn't even convert the date before giving it to me. We filed for fiancee visa for Nepal. We use our own calendar system and all the official documents use native dates. Therefore we have to translate it to English date before filling out any forms that require it. What happened was, she had a date on her mind since her school days which was given to her by a teacher and she had been using it ever since. So she didn't even bother to convert the actual date before giving it to me which was 3 days short from the actual date. NOw the petition has 10/10/85 which should have been 10/13/85. So Our petition now approved and is at the Kathmandu Embassy. She just told me that the date is actually wrong when she went to translate the birth certificates and other documents.

I read some thread earlier having same issues and figured you can talk to embassy directly and amend it. Some said they called National visa center and had them amend it. So what would be the best thing to do? I am planning to write a letter and fax it to the embassy. And also have my fiancee write a letter and fax it along with her birth certificate before picking up the packet. Please advise !!

Thanks
