it varies now, it took about month before we had to go get our packet at the embassy, but they do give you an interview date in advance now but the interview date might be next year sometimes. Maybe one of the other ladies who have been through Jordan can also give you an estimated date for the packet 3.

Welcome to the ME/NA forum

After approval it took us about 4-5 weeks to get the interview date/packet from Amman. Good luck. :star:

this is the notice of approval that my wife got from the homeland security

the visa petition you filed has been approved, the beneficiary for whom you filed has been given the appropriate classification . note the approval gives no assurance that the benficiary will automatically be found eligible for visa issuance admission to the united states or adjustment of lawful permanant resident status, whether the beneficiary gets a visa is decided only when an application is made to a consular officer ,whether the beneficiary is admitted or adjuats status in the united states is decided only when application is made to an immigration officer.

your petition to classify the beneficiary as immediate relative of a united states citizen has been forwarded to the u.s. embassy in amman jordan, this completes all action by this service on the petition .the u.s.embassy which is part of the department of state , will contact the beneficiary and give insructions about getting a visa ,

any one had this before ...? and what happens next

Ok I don't have that one yet, I am also going through Amman. I just sent in on Tuesday the AOS fee and the DS-3032. I am not sure but JP replied and i believe she is the most recent one that has went through Jordan but Iam not sure she is doing the same petition. Did you designate your wife your Choice of agent? Has she been using James Short Cuts? I am askign as I am trying to get through this as fast as I can as everyone else is to.

I was a little confused by this. Isn't it normal that the NVC does some of the processing before it is forwarded to the consulate when it is the I-130 that is approved? For Morocco our case stayed at the NVC for about 4 months. They sent the DS-3032, and a bill for the I-864. Once they received who was listed on the DS-3032 (me) they sent me the bill for the DS-230. Once payment was recieved for the I-864 they sent me the form, and same with the DS-230.

What I thought was that all of the approved I-130's were handled this way up to this point, then after it was handled according to the consulate. For Morocco I sent the forms back to them for examination, and then the NVC scheduled the interview and forwarded the papers to Morocco. I know that there are consulates that do their own processing and scheduling, and I think Jordan is one of those.

Anyway, if it is the I-130 that was approved I doubt it has already been sent to the consulate, unless someone here can tell me I am up in the night on this one....

I read over in the Foreign Embassy section their petition after an interview in Amman got sent to Athens Greece. Something about needing more proof ?? So maybe a waiver of some kind. From what he wrote it must of been approved and being sent back to Amman.

No you are right on track of the I-130 process. You have how it goes right. I am going trough it right now and I am told that after they get to 230 is when it will go to Amman.

your wait should be around 4-6 weeks to receive the packet 3

the interview will be scheduled anywhere from that date to 2 years as the embassy is far behind and are giving out dates roughly a year in advance..that date may change but I've seen a lot of ppl get interview dates for next august/september.

we can't tell you how long for the visa because they may put her on AR in which the time is completely unknown. it could be 2 days (as ours was) or it can be 2 years as I've seen before. They could also issue the visa at the interview (rare but possible)

I hope that answers your question

Ameel I read over in the foreign embassy forum, that you already had an interview right, but they sent your case to Athens because you needed more proof and now they sent your case back to Amman. You might want to email the embassy and ask if they received your petition and ask them what will happen next.

Here is the email address to the embassy in Amman

Good Luck!
