I cannot believe this day is here. Our I-601 waiver of inadmissability has been APPROVED. My husband received his letter today in Santo Domingo. just wanted to let everyone know that with patience and perseverance it will all pass one day. We first started this process in 2009 while we were engaged, thru to 2010 when we were married, 2011 when our son was born, until now November 2012 with an approved waiver! 3 years later and our prayers were answered.

The scariest part was the waiver process. I have been calling the consulate in the DR every 2 weeks since May 2012 (we submitted our waiver April 3, 2012). I kept sending inquiries as to what was going on with our waiver, and I believe that helped or it would still be sitting under someone's desk! Most important is this visa journey community. With all the knowledge you provide and all of you wonderful people going through these visa processes, I was able to fill everything out and wrote my own I-601 application without a lawyer. I am proof it can be done!

We are probably some of the last stragglers of the old process where you had to submit you waiver to the international office your spouse was from (you all who are submitting to the US are blessed) but Hold on. Santo Domingo is extremely slow, they don't update their systems regularly so it can get frustrating. Just keep calling and keep getting answers. But as for me and my husband, our nightmare is over Wepa! Buena Suerte y que Dios bendiga a todos :)
