My wife and I are going to New York City in the middle of May. Neither one of us has been there before... but I'm mostly excited because I have a bunch of family coming over from Sweden. I have a cousin who goes to school in (I think) the Bronx and he graduates college in May, so that's the occasion, so to speak. I'm very much looking forward to seeing my family members again, when we see them it will be almost exactly since months since I saw them last. My parents are coming back to Pittsburgh with me and my wife, I can't wait to show them my new home. Also, my (maternal) grandparents may be coming to America too (if only grandpa can convince grandma it's worth the long time on the plane). I really hope he can convince her, I would love to see them again. They aren't that old, they are in their mid 70's... but still. And I do think they would like coming to Pittsburgh, grandpa especially. My aunt was an au pair here in the 1990's, so they have actually been here before, and I do think they would like to come back. So fingers crossed.

This may not qualify as boring stuff, at least to me it's very exciting. But this seems like a good place to post about it. lol

I'm sure you'll have fun with your family. I felt very touristy when my husband took me to NYC for the first time in April 2010. Almost everybody wanted to take a photo in every corner of the city. There were also Dutch-speaking tourists who raced to climb the Bowling Green Bull for "good luck" because at that time, people could still touch the sculpture. In the recent photos of my friends, it seems that the Charging Bull is now inside a fence and is off-limits. Make sure to wear very comfy shoes for walking around.

I had to do some research at the UCLA law library on Friday, and there were two old people totally monopolizing the reference librarian's time, which was really frustrating because I had only one question (can I access this database? answer: no). I spent the next two hours reading about punitive damages, which was frustrating because so much of it was federal and not California orientated. I left campus at 5.15 and it took me almost an hour to get home -- only 3 miles! Nuts. I think it was because it had been raining, which always freaks people out. Also it was Friday, and it was Westwood and DOUBLE RAINBOW:

OWF2sPQ.jpg

And on the way home I stopped at Macy's to get a sweater shaver, but they didn't have one. I thought about buying a new blush but changed my mind.

ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE SKY!

I had to buy acetone today to take off my shelac (sp) on my nails. It's all cracked now.

I've been putting off a pedicure myself. The polish on my toes is totally chipped off and it is getting on to sandal weather here now.

That's cool! My husband texted me shortly before 6 pm on Friday to ask if I've seen the rainbow.

My Facebook feed was filled with double rainbows on Friday. Much cooler than sweater shavers.star_smile.gif

I had to write an awkward e-mail for my boss. She was appreciative that she didn't have to do it.

I threw up last night and this morning, and am queasy as all get out. My boyfriend has me paranoid that I'm pregnant, but I think it may have been a bad ham sandwich.dead.gif
