Got me. He is still in contact with at least one of these women (I've met her and she is nice enough). She is still looking for her dream man, whatever that is. She has a very successful career, money, nice house, but she only cares about bad boy looks and finds some real losers to be with. Whines to my husband every now and again about how her last boyfriend dumped her for some stocker at Lidl or whatever. She's getting older and is afraid she'll never marry or have kids, but she's not willing to compromise on the bad boy looks issue.

 Lidl, we have that! My SIL works at Aldi, which I think is pretty similar.

I'm cooking something new for dinner tonight and I am worried. I've made stir fry terriyaki meat before, not never in the oven...it looks weird.

My stepsister stole the guy I was majorly crushing on when I was 17.

They dated on and off for 5 years until married.

Less than a year after they were married, he up and leaves her and moves to wyoming.

Basically has a mid life crisis (grew up majorly christian as a pastor's son)

He decided he wanted to smoke pot and get drunk all day with a bunch of other christian mid-life-crisisees.

After like 4 years, I think they are finally divorced.

Lesson Learned?

Don't steal your best friend's crush.

You'll end up divorced.

Now she's trying to pull that YEAH IM AWESOME I DONT NEED A MAN! but I know she cries herself to sleep every night.

My mom has a best friend who is obviously her age, like 46 or something and has never had a real boyfriend.

And her cat died a few years ago.

That is the saddest life I could possibly picture for myself.

Not that I need a man to survive, but jesus, completely alone at 46 coming home every night to an empty house?

She doesn't even have internet faster than dial up.

What does that woman do with herself?!

 Lidl, we have that! My SIL works at Aldi, which I think is pretty similar.

If you dress up like a Geisha and serve it, he wont care how the terriyaki came out...

We got Lidl too and Billa !!! ...Good wheat buns or whatever they are called but not much else to chose from....then again, my parents live in the middle of nowhere....as for the joke...."God was going around smiting places as it was the end of the world, arrived to the village my parents live in, looked around and goes - Oh ya I have already been here and leaves". Yup that sums it up.

Terriyaki mmmm let us know how it turned out !! I want some good tea with lavender honey for dinner (yes, I am weird)

OMG my mother has a friend like that too...she lives right across the street....all she did in her whole life is take care of her mother and now her mother passed away and she is just alone never had a man.....it just feels sad...and she has no cat either.....I think one day she was so frustrated she went out and chopped down a tree in front of her house.....I wonder if your mom's friend chops away trees too ....

If you dress up like a Geisha and serve it, he wont care how the terriyaki came out...

:rofl::thumbs:

Actually Aldi and Lidl kind of piss me off because there is nowhere to bag your stuff and you have to put it back in your cart and then bag it. The one Aldi I went to in America had the same thing. Weird.

I don't know about the being in your 40s and alone. Since hitting puberty, I don't think I've been alone for more than 3 or 4 months. I think it would be sad, but you'd probably get used to it.

I have a 48ish year old cousin who is a Jehovah's Witness who has never had a girlfriend. I think that is kind of sad.

If you dress up like a Geisha and serve it, he wont care how the terriyaki came out...

He might prefer it if I dressed like a Valkyrie.

This guy just placed an order on our website:

Contact Name: Cal Calamari

There was a girl in my high school named Simone Simone.

Not as funny as Calamari. ;)

I moved all of the furniture around in our house today. Since we moved here, my daughter has hated her room and usually just will not sleep in and refuses to play in it. So, to save my sanity - our bed went in her room, her stuff went in the living room, and the dining room table went in our old bedroom with 2 desks. Our Danish apartment is fairly large and there is lots of room left over in all the rooms, but it makes sense with the layout (our bedroom was next to the kitchen and all the rooms have doors here so they can be multipurpose).

It seems to be working well as I don't have to scramble to put away toys before dinner, the husband can sleep without me making all sorts of noise until 3 am when he has to get up at 5:30.

I like it when you don't do it fast enough and the cashier gives you dirty looks or they just throw the other person's ####### with yours. Thanks.

I had some irrational hatred of Lidl. If I were to rate the small discounters, it would be:

1) Plus

2) Edeka

3) Aldi

832839) Lidl

I always found Lidl to be crappier than even the worst Aldi Nord. Regardless, when they built the Kaufland in Witten, I dropped all the rest of the small grocers like a flaming bag of herpes. Finally, something comparable in size to Kroger that I didn't have to go to Bochum for!

I guess it depends on if it is her choice or not to be alone. Some people are just too lazy for the game and would rather be alone. There is always someone out there for everyone somewhere somehow, so that leads me to the assumption either her standards are too high, she isn't trying hard enough, or she just simply doesn't care.

I've never lived on my own, so no idea what that is like. I went straight from my mother's house to my husband's. How quaint and old fashioned of me. Every once in a great while, I wonder what it must be like to answer to no one about my life and have no family responsibilities. Ultimately though, I am happy with my life as it is and don't wish otherwise. :star:

Our Aldi, and every aldi I've been in, puts all of your stuff back into the cart, then you move your cart to a counter to bag your stuff. I love it.

Most, and I mean MOST as in almost ALL grocery stores in Canada require you to bag your own groceries.

They go down on 1 of the 2 conveyer belts and you better hurry and finish before they need your conveyer belt.

Then the nasty looks come.

Mother-in-law FINALLY received her citizenship interview appointment letter. Same day and time as mine and her son's AOS interview. What are the odds? lol. Talk about killing two birds with one stone...hubby has to drive her to anywhere that requires getting on the highway even though she has been driving for at least 12 years.

I'm hopelessly slow. I have a bad habit of trying to organize to fit the cart and I just can't throw ####### in there as fast as they scan it. When I went to Aldi in the Indiana, I made it a habit to never buy enough to need a cart. Usually I just ran in after work to pick up an item or two. I normally only went to Kroger and Meijer to grocery shop. There are no Aldi's in Washington state. I had to break down and make my own stollen this Christmas. It actually was interesting because it was fresh. The only time my husband ever had one that was fresh was when one of his aunt's who lived far away made one. I had never eaten a fresh one. If it wasn't so expensive and time consuming to make the stupid thing, I would have made one for the neighbor. It cost around $13-14 in ingredients and didn't even rise the first time. I had to add more yeast and try again. PITA, but good. Next Christmas I will make a few as gifts, I think.
