Okay you keep repeating the same headline proclamation dig a little deeper and tell me what exactly you would have republican do that will increase their voter participation?

What gift, what program, what lure will they use that the Dems can't do'em on better?

I have an answer, lets see if you have thought past the sloganeering.

I already said - Republicans need to include minorities in their target audience. Be more inclusive, not exclusive. It isn't about "gifts" or "free stuff" no matter how many times you guys want to spew that offensive line. You guys truly want to believe that your party is correct and people just aren't seeing it but reality disagrees with you. Reality is that a majority of Americans AGREE with a woman's right to choose, gay marriage, immigration reform, higher taxes for the rich, etc. You can not like it all you want, but that's the attitude of the country. And it's only going to get better (or worse, for Republicans) ... the minorities will have even MORE votes in 2016.

If you honestly believe that the Republicans can win them over with their current attitudes, then I hope your party is more intelligent and realistic than you are.

You almost sound like your election facts are confused....

-Obama got more than 7 million fewer votes this time, even with the multi billion dollar campaign.

-Romney simply failed to turn out his voters, no one believed his new conservative leaf...... it's not like they Jumped to Obama in any wave.

Did you get that... Obama had a sizable decline in the number of people interested in him in 2012.

Q: What message should he change?

Obama doesn't need to change any message since he's done running for office. Voter turnout was lower than in 2004 and 2008 and more in line with the turnout of the 2000 election.

Applying your train of thought to House Republicans who have not only received fewer total votes but actually failed to attract a majority of the votes cast, what message do they need to change?

You know why Romney failed to turn out his voters? The white male vote that he was counting on is no longer the majority in this country. It's a shame that nobody else was focused on. And it's only going to get worse for Republicans. There will be a larger population of "non-whites" in 2016. You think Republicans have any chance? No. They don't. Not unless they expand their target audience. Youth and minorities flock to the Democrats. It's a fact of life. What will Republicans do about it? If nothing, then expect the same results.

The demographic and attitude of America is changing. If Republicans don't want to change with it, that's up to them. But what they're doing clearly isn't working. I'm not sure how you can dispute that.

Pay attention, Danno!!!!

It doesn't speak well for the level of intelligence of the Republican Party that a relative new comer to our country can spot this immediately, yet the die hard Repubs that have been witnessing it happening for years still have no clue.

The GOP is going to evolve into an openly white peoples party. Thats what the base wants.

They gave me some pro-Democrat kool-aid at the border.

For starters, Republicans need to stop talking down on minorities in this nonsensical and hateful way.

That's a good first step. Talk to them like they're people and not just prizes you win.

So then you must be all set with welfare, rental assistance, health insurance, and a full plethera of free stuff paid for by the hard working Republicans. You'll never have to work another day in your life.

Recognize that these are people not leeches. Recognize that minorities are not lazy bums looking for handouts but work hard, have dreams and aspirations and hopes for the future of their children too. Recognize that they are working towards the same American Dream as everyone else. Recognize that they are not "them" but that they are part of "us". They belong to this American family. Don't pretend otherwise and then act surprised when they reject you.

We're all gonna be in a world of hurt now because the real Americans - a.k.a. Republicans - have resolved to withdraw their support. Like Gary, they will all hop onto the wagon now and quit pulling it. That's the end of the free ride for the liberals. You just wait and watch.

I read that post you quoted and all I read is "republicans need to change". I can write on here how the sky is blue and so is the ocean.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

You say you are reading, but you don't appear to be comprehending. "Republicans need to change" is a fact, assuming they want to actually be revelant again. What are you really trying to say, Kip? You don't think they need to change or you don't know how to go about it.

Because if you don't think they need to change then I don't think you're going to get an answer. If you admit they need to change and you seriously are asking what to do, then the question has been answered many times. Read the posts.

I mean I could summarize it for you, but I'm hesitant to waste my time doing that when I think the crux of the problem is not that you need answers, but that you actually think you have all the answers already.
