I-864W ignored - Info-Pass Appointment - Official SSS needed???

I have been working in the US on TN visas since 2001 and have accumulated over 40 qualifying quarters. I just received a request for initial evidence - that's basically ignoring my social security statement.

It says:

" It appears you are using Social Security Act-qualifiying quarters that your spouse or parent worked to satisfy 40 quarters requirement which may makes you expect from the Affidavit of Support requirement", when the social security statement is clearly identified under my name and current address. A bit of research on Visa Journey points towards the following:

* It's rather unusual that USCIS officer come across such case, so they don't risk getting wet and redirect you towards the usual "safe" path of I-864;

* Make an info-pass appointment and hope that the officer will be able to "take the risk";

Questions:

Do I need to bring an official social security statement copy (this may be impossible since the Social Security Office no longer send them in the mail. Also, I actually went to a Social Security Office and attempted to get one but was unsuccessful) and all my W-2 copies covering the 40 + quarters of work?

As anyone successfully dealt with this issue with an info pass appointment? What did you bring?

Thanks

Thanks for your reply. I knew I could get a copy of my SS statement online but what I meant to ask is; do I need a certified SS statement copy?

I wouldn't bother with it. The regular one should be fine, the infopass people will tell you if certified is required so maybe start the process for it now just in case so you have a head start.

K. Thanks Vanessa and Tony for your reply. That's what I believe too.

Anyone out there have any idea if the a USCIS representative seen during an info-pass appointment has any power to change an RFE decision?

In any case, I'll let you know what comes off of this info-pass appointment for future reference. Appointment on November 14, 2012. Stay tuned!

The USCIS representative I talked to during the info pass interview in November agreed that it was likely a USCIS honest mistake - to send the RFE - but he couldn't reverse the decision. His suggestion is that I send back the RFE along with a letter explaining that " The name on the SSS is my own and that I indeed qualified for SS benefits being credited with 40 quarters of work. Therefore I could indeed use a I-864 W form". As simple as that! It seems it worked since I got my AOS approved a few months later.
