My fiancee's visa interview is scheduled for January 29th.

I've Googled and gotten a lot of typical interview questions, so she should hopefully be ready for that.

I haven't seen any mention of needing to send in the Affidavit of Support (I-134 I think). Will she need this for the interview? I can mail it there with the package I am sending this week if she needs it.

But, the FAQ section of the US Interests Section website mentions me calling the consulate at 2pm on the day of her interview. But it doesn't list the phone number to call. Is it the same number that I have never successfully called - (537) 834-4400? I attempted to call that number literally a few hundred times one day and never got anyone to answer. Or is there a different number to call?

Thanks guys! Any other words of advice on the interview process are definitely appreciated!

I have not heard of having to call the day of the interview. Where did you see this on their site?

Re the I-134, read the K1 Guide in Visa Journey - you definitely need the proof that you make enough to support your fiance. I believe this is the main reason people get denied.

Good luck!

ann and aties:

Thank you for the info. Sorry it took me so long to reply.

In this document is where it says to call the US Special Interests Section at 2pm on the date of the interview to speak with a consular officer.

Unfortunately, it doesn't give the phone number to call, and there are several phone numbers given throughout the website. I have never had any success dialing (537) 834-4400. I called a few hundred times one day - yes, a few hundred - and never got anything but a busy signal. So I'm really hoping that they have a different number to speak to a consular officer for interview purposes, since I assume that is a really important phone call.

Hopefully the phone number that MarMire gave will work.
