Important Note: The NVC cannot accept Form I-134 for immigrant visa processing. The NVC only accepts the appropriate I-864 form(s) listed above.

there just seems to be a ton of frustrating conflicting information everywhere ugh.. so do i still send out the i-134 to my fiance as visa journey suggests, or do i follow those instructions and fill out the I-864 instead??

(after i got the NoA2) My girl (in Poland) received DS-230 and some instructions, she followed the instructions they sent - which said to not send any documents other than ds230 and IVF04. Was that our packet 3?? it seems incomplete.

The I-134 is usually handed in on interview day, by the person being interviewed, to a Consular Officer or staff member.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Proof of Financial Support and Affidavit of Support Forms

During the visa interview, applicants will be required to present evidence to the Consular Officer that they will not become a public charge in the U.S. You may present evidence that you are able to financially support yourself or that your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) is able to provide support. The Consular Officer may request that a Form I-134, Affidavit of Support be submitted by the U.S. citizen fiancé(e).

The U.S. citizen fiancé(e) will need to submit Form I-864 to USCIS with the application for adjustment of status to that of legal permanent resident following the marriage.

The K-1 is considered a nonimmigrant visa. It's best to check with your particular consulate in the matter, but I-134 is generally the form to be presented for a K-1 interview. The I-864 will be used in the Adjustment of Status. If you were filing an IR-1/CR1 visa for a spouse. That would be considered an immigrant visa and I-864 would be used only.

Tha was packet 3, yes. It only contains a sheet that instructs to get several documents. Packet 4 are the instructions for mdeical exam, which you can get from web site of the embassy and move on that. FOr i-134 is what you will need for the interview at the embassy. Notice that English and Polish instructions are not exactly same....in one of them (can't recall which) it wants the 134 notarized (the other does not). We did notarize ours, other couples here reported they did not (but the ones I recall were from not Polish citizens)....

All the documents will be taken with fiancee to the interview.

I have only I-134 but... not notarized :/

@Andrew+Jaga - Do you have your inerview date already? I called the embassy today and the lady said I can have my interview in 3 months or 6.. no one knows... Tell me that's just a standard line they give to everyone :( I'm feeling so low-spirited today.
