Form I-797c Notice of Action

I have been searching all night on this forum and can't find any info to help me. I filed for my i-130 and also for a temporary work permit (i-765). Well everything has gone really quick, they got my forms Sept 21st, I had my biometrics like Oct 14th and now, I just got a i-797c form for an initial interview. This sounds silly, but I am just checking, is this my final interview that my wife comes to with me? (it says that on the form) So quick! I feel like I am missing something, any help would be great.

I don't undersand because your infos in your timeline say that you are on the IR-1/CR-1 visa path, and that your US wife (I guess) filed for the I-130 petition on Sept 17th.

Are you in the US? What is your current status?

Can you give us more infos?

Yeah, I've tried filling in that timeline, it too has confused me. I am in the states. I got married in June, filed the i-130, 1-864, 485, 1-765. I put all this paperwork in Sept 21st. I filed the i-765 thinking I would need a temporary work visa (my h1b visa expired Oct). I got my biometrics Oct 14th and now, I think I have the final interview? I just thought it happened really quickly.

Well, if you got a letter saying you are scheduled for an interview at a USCIS office, then yes it is. It can be quick sometimes. When is your interview?

I got mine less than 2 and a half months after sending the paperwork. :)

Try updating your timeline with the correct info (if there's not the type of visa you are adjusting from, I believe H1B, then there should be a "other visa" option).

Also, filing for the I-765 was not a bad idea, even if your AOS is processed quickly, it could have been slow and you never know when you start the process how fast it will be. It was free anyway. :)

Thank you for the quick response, yes my interview is Dec 12th next month!! Very excited. Not to get ahead of myself but how quickly do you usually get approved after the interview? I know they can approve you on the spot.

It depends on the adjudicator. Some approve on the spot, some says they need to "review the file", and approve a few hours/weeks after!
