Major F1-visa dilemma: Stopped going to classes and left after semester ended?

So I had a nervous breakdown of sorts during my masters program and I quit going to class halfway through the semester....and I left US a week or two after the semester ended. Am I in trouble with my status? I don't intend to come back to the states but I just want to know whatever happened to my status. Will a penalty apply to me if I ever reapply for a US visa?

It sounds like you didn't overstay.

The school probably reported your absence to SEVIS and cancelled your F-1

Do you have proof of your departure? Like a passport stamp from your own country just in case you are ever asked?

Good luck

It can depend on what your school has reported and when they have reported back to SEVIS.

It can depend is the school has reported the days when you stopped going to school in the middle of the semester or just reported you dropped out at end of semester.

If they have reported all the days that you did not go to college, you might be in trouble if they just reported you did not complete the semester and you left in 2/3 weeks you might be ok.
