Hello everyone.. Its a bit confusing kindly enlighten me about these things:

1. I am preparing docs to petition my wife right now but we have still a child that has to be reported her birth abroad so she can acquire my citizenshil as her parent, so my questions here are:

A. If we proceed with the CRBA, and petitioning my wife, do i need to apply for form 1-130 for my little girl?

If not, how can she can be admitted to come, is it by applying passport at the same time with CRBA?

Or

B. just petition them together, report my child birth (CRBA) and claim her citizenship afterwards after admission to US by filing N-600?

Pls direct me which path is best and less time-consuming?

My Journey:

March 29, 2013 :PD Dec-20, 2013 USCIS approval date July 28. 2015 (F) (F) (F)Interview Date APPROVED.

File CRBA for the child, there's no need to file i-130 for her. You can apply for a US passport for the child once citizenship has been established.

Thank you.!. Apple you made my day!

Follow up question with respect to my application for my wife, which path is less - consuming time? We are under less than 2 yrs married.

Thanks and hoping for a positive response.

The I-130 petition which leads to a CR-1 visa will take 8-10 months. The CRBA depends a lot on the US embassy you apply through, you are looking at 1-3 months.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

CRBA would be the easiest, fastest and cheapest way for your daughter.

Plus you can get a CRBA at ANY of the US consulate so there may be one much closer for you. There is a drop-down on the right hand side of the link that'll give you all of the locations.

For your wife I would recommend the normal I-130 (CR-1/IR-1) Visa path.

The K-3 may be moderately faster if[/i ] it were to go through (the majority of the time it is administratively closed by NVC) but is way more expensive in the end and your wife would have to adjust status upon getting to the US. This seems to be leading to some issues for the some of the Canadian fiancé visa people lately with things like driver's licences (depending on the State).
