Greeting everybody

I am new to visa journey. I will come straight to the point. We have been married for 4.5 years and have been together for 5.5 years. I have been a citizen for 3 months. were arguing the other day and i said that if you do not quit drugs i will leave you and she said if I ever leave her than she will want my citizenship back. she said that the only reason I got the citizenship is because of her and if i ever try to leave she will apply for annulment based on marriage fraud and tell the immigration that I made her lie on the interviews and that she will destroy me if I ever leave her. While i understand her use of threats in order to not lose me, I want to know if what she saying is even possible.

Thank you

I think it would be incredibly hard to get an annulment because she'd have to somehow explain why she stayed with you and you with her if the marriage was fraudulent and only for immigration purposes.

If you don't think the marriage can be saved and she doesn't want to quit using drugs, then divorce her. No person has the right to put another through the hell of their addiction. Perhaps you filing for divorce/separation will be enough incentive for her to get help, maybe not. Only she can figure that out for herself.

I would talk to an attorney as fast as i could......people that use drugs are unstable and it is possible to loose your citizenship.....i am not sure of the reasons that you can loose it but if i were in your shoes i would be finding out in a hurry........this forum is full of information that is invaluable to those of us that are immigrating or the petitioner for our loved one.

for the questions you have you need a legal attorney to find out what your options are and if she can do what she is threatening to do.

just my opinion

It can, in rare cases. But she would have to have a TON of PROOF of her allegations for USCIS to even look into the claim this far down. Also unlikely she could get an annulment this late in the game.

only an act of treason can cause revocation of citizenship. That and if they believe you lied on your applications and interview. A crazy and emotional spouse can't necessarily do this to you unless she had proof and you really did fraud the government.

Has she by chance threatened you in an email? I would try to get one. Protect yourself!

Wow! after few years of marriage, the sweetest word now turns sour! As what others advised here, please consult a good lawyer! Your wife seems like a very dangerous person! Don't take her threat for granted. She is a drug addict, then it has great possibility she would mess your citizenship -- being a loser! Start keeping all your documents / evidences that you entered your marriage in good faith, with no lies and deceptions. Truth will always prevail in the end - so no worry too much! God bless!

I have an attorney and i will consult him after this weekend about this question. I heard about visa jouney so thought i should give it a try. My wife really love me and it seems like she will do anything and everything to keep me including beggin me to stay and if failed using immigration threats. I cant get her to stop using drugs and 2 years of drug and alcohol conseling didnt help either. I was thinking that all she really have to do is contact uscis and say that she lied before and now she is telling the truth.

Do you have documents of the threats? What about the drug/alcohol treatment? Any documents you can now begin to gather, do so. Not because you plan to use them, but just in case she does go off the deep end.

She sounds desperate. And irresponsible. I wish you the best--this is a hard road that you are a traveling.

And whatever you do, use birth control when you are intimate with her. Don't trust her to do it. YOU take responsibility for it. People who are stupid enough to threaten to turn your life upside down in this way are also stupid enough to try to create children with no regard for the result except the attention.
