Hi,

I just found your forum, while looking for some answers to questions I have.

First of all:

I am Felix, 22, from Germany, studying in the USA on a F1 Visa. (At the moment at a community college for an AS degree, with intend to transfer to the University here to complete my Bachelors degree)

I met my girlfriend online several years ago (2009), after talking for some months, I just joked about coming there on vacation... Well 1 month later I was sitting in an airplane, and we got together. Now we are dating for way over 3 years... Had some ups and downs, and I came here on a F1 Visa...

I wanted to study Computer Science in the USA either way, and already found a company who would hire me back in Germany after my studies and it would ve been a great chance to finally be able to enjoy daily life together.

In the meantime, we broke up and had some troubles, where I didnt know where I stand for her, I anyways followed my way and went to my visa interview and got it approved. And we started talking again intensely the months before I came here and even decided that we would move together.

2 Month after I came here she moved in with me and, it was better than ever before. And after a while we started talking about marriage.

To her it cant be fast enough, but I know there are some more obstacles to take, marrying a non-us-citizen.

Questions:

1. Will it effect the result of the Interview, that we moved together that soon after I came here and knew each other as a couple long before my entry?

2. How long does the process take from sending in the documents to receiving the Green Card?

3. Am I still allowed to study, while having the AOS pending?

4. Since, I now have the intend to marry her, I shouldnt leave the USA, or else I could get in serious trouble at the POE, I read. Is this true?

Thanks in advance!

1. No

2. Usually between 3 to 5 months

3. Yes you can

4. After you start the process you should not leave the country until you have everything straight with the immigration.

Hope it helps!
