This was last year and things might have changed... dont know if this helps anyone in the process...but when I got to the consult I was told we needed an appointment to get this paper because a consulate officer needs to witness/swear, sign and stamp it. I waited inside until it was evident they were not coming back from court that day...

so we needed to go back again another time to complete it.

Apparently the appointments were made on their website by the petitioner or USC that needed such a paper.

Yes, things might have changed, for us, we went to the consulate without appointment, my wife showed the security guy her American passport so he let her go inside the consulate. 1 hours later she came out with the Affidavit of eligibility for marriage stamped and sealed, we had to translate it into Arabic, that was in September 2010, so yes, things might have changed.

offtopic45vn.gif Hey SARAYOUBLISS,

How are you? Is your wife making arrangements yet for another visit soon? Hope all is well with you both, and your wife is feeling better each day and finding her strength to keep moving forward with this process.

Hello Foreverwaiting,

Thanks for asking, my wife & I are ok although she got injured at work last month, a mentally-unstable patient hit my wife in the head, she took 3 weeks off but not totally healed from it, it affected her nervous system, the Dr wants her to take another month off to heal, but she thinks being off work for another month is no good so she now got back to work, i'sad.gif i'm so concerned about her health & sanity, i told her that since her employee pays her for the time off-work then no problem , and also knowing we found a co sponsor who meets the financial criteria,

about her visiting me , i finally convinced her that it is crucial, she can't handle airport so her friend will be with her , but until she gets a leave which i don't see it soon,. :sad.gif
