Well, although the visa paperwork reached the NVC in September, we just received notice the other day that my wife's interview has been scheduled for December 18th...what a relief! The reason it took so long is because the packet was missing the police certificate (we knew it was missing that...sent everything else while waiting on it). Well, I got an email saying they needed a copy of it, so I sent a copy of it. Then I received notification they wanted the original. That seemed odd so I called and was told they wanted the original. Against my better judgement the original was mailed...and then lost. Called and explained the situation to the NVC, who then stated a copy would do...UGH! Sent a copy of it (which I kept on my computer) and all was glorious after that. Unfortunately though, we'll have to go get a new original police certificate now since the first one was lost...PITA...oh well, at least we now have an interview date, which is a relief.

With any luck, the interview will go well and my wife and our son will soon be able to enter the States. We started the process back in mid-March, so it has taken quite some time.

BTW...I updated my timeline and noticed a few spaces regarding "Pkt 3." What is Pkt 3 referring to?

On K visas there's a packet 3. Since you submit everything to NVC, there is no packet 3 for CR-1/IR-1 visas.

Thanks Karee...good to know. I wasn't really sweating it, but rather just wanted to ensure my timeline was accurate since others on the site sometimes like to refer to those. Figure keeping that up to date is the least I can do for all the good info I've gotten from this site.

My timeline was last updated on 29MAR2013.
