We are getting ready for our interview on the 19th in Montreal...I wanted to make sure that I have all the documents that I need.

This is what I have:

  1. I-134 Filled Out with: This years paystubs. Letter from my employer. My offer letter from employment when I started.
  2. Copy of my fiance's biopage of his passport.
  3. Original and Copy of his AND my birth certificate (just in case they ask for mine)
  4. Appointment letter and loomis confirmation as well as prood of $240 fee payment.
  5. Letter of Intent from Me signed within 30 days of interview
  6. Police Certificates original and copies
  7. 13 pictures of us with location, names and dates on the back.
  8. Copy of our entire Package 3 sent to the embassy.
  9. Copys of receipts/text conversations/other things for proof of relationship.

Anything else you can think of that I need? I just want to make sure I got my ducks in a row.

Thanks to everyone for their help! I am so thankful we are almost done with this K1 part.

The letter of intent must be from the USC, not the Canadian. (Not sure which you are) and you need the last three year's tax returns (including W-2s) or tax transcripts or thed I-134 is useless :P (technically you only need the most recent year's but the last three is highly recommended).

Also the Canadian needs to bring two passport style photos. Also only original police certificates are accepted.

And the medical exam in the sealed envelope- very important!

I am the USC.

I do have the last 2 years of Tax Transcripts. I couldn't get the third year. Hopefully that's ok. Do they request W2s with the tax transcripts? I don't think I have those anymore. Is that going to be a problem?

We have the original Police Certificate and I did make a copy just in case.

For our interview last week they asked for:

1) I-134 and 2011 tax transcript

3) They took both original and a copy of birth certificate, original was returned during interview

4) Appointment letter - I think I messed up here, I printed out the summary of everything (Applicant, Appointment, Loomis, etc) and lady at the first window made some comment that it wasn't the interview letter but let us through anyway.

5) Letter of intent

6) They took original. make sure it has a raised seal, they looked for that.

*) Don't forget the medical results!

It can't hurt to have the other stuff, but they never asked for any of it. Compared to some of the horror story interviews on these forums, our interviewer sounded rather bored like she didn't want to be at work that day. She just asked how we met, where I live, and how I proposed.

2011-05-21: Matched on eharmony (clearly not in my 60 mile radius preference!)

2011-07-30: Met in Ottawa

2011-08-28: Day I knew I wanted to spend my life with her

2012-01-21: I proposed, outside in the freezing cold!

2012-02-06: Mailed out K-1 via FedEX

2012-02-10: NOA1

2012-08-01: NOA2

2012-08-17: Packet 3 received (email)

2012-09-10: Packet 3 sent

2012-09-12: Packet 4 received (email) with request for 2 photos

2012-10-29: Medical in Toronto

2012-11-06: Interview - Approved!

2013-04-05: POE Thousand Islands

2013-04-20: Wedding

What exactly does the interview letter look like? I printed off the confirmation from the CSC Monteal website and I also have the printed off email confirmation from the interview date schedule and the loomis. But that is all we have.

Both the USC and the Beneficiary need to have a Letter of Intent - at least, you do in Vancouver.

I actually completely forget about the updated letters and they never ended up asking us for them in Vancouver. We did have a letter of intent for both of us in the original i-129f package though. We probably got lucky! Well, if all else had failed we could've written and signed one there I guess...

April 23, 2013 - AOS interview - Approved!

January 26, 2015 - Mailed off ROC Application

June 30, 2015 - 10 year greencard in hand

January 25, 2016 - N400 Application Mailed

May 11, 2016 - Citizenship Interview + same-day Oath ceremony!

Regarding my earlier post: not to discount that it might be useful for both the beneficiary and the petitioner to have a letter of intent, though. It's really quick to put one together, so you don't lose anything by bringing both.

It's funny for my interview in Vancouver tax documents were not requested. I brought them anyway, but they never made mention of them. Just thinking aloud, you sound prepared good luck I hope all goes well!

Don't you file those with the affidavit of support?

I can't for the life of me understand why so many people bring them during interview and THEN get denied for enough support... don't they review that ahead of time?
