Ok...soooo I called the DOS (as I do everyday...lol) but today they told me there is still no interview date, however on 10/29 a packet 3 was mailed out to the beneficiary. Also last week I emailed the Consulate to inquire about the case status and they had stated that the packet with interview date and instructions would be sent out by the end of the month or the beginning of the next. So what the DOS stated makes sense. Now here is the problem. They don't send out packet 3 here, and when I informed the DOS rep of that she said well it is not a packet 4 and maybe someone did something in the system to finagle something(yes she said finagle) and that I would need to contact the Consulate to see exactly what was going on because all she could see is that something was sent out from the Consulate to beneficiary. I am here ALL DAY LONG and nothing has come as of yet. Any ideas..suggestions...and if something was sent out why can't DOS see and interview date what else would they have sent?

Now to make matters worse. I called the 877 number for the Consulate paid my dang on $7 for them to tell me that my case is not there at the Consulate and that I should call back in 2 weeks. I informed them that I had been corresponding with the Consulate via email and that it had been confirmed that my case had arrived at the Consulate, I was told that I should follow what ever information they told me cause they could not find my case. After some yelling and a few mala palabras (which is so not like me to loose my cool) I got off the phone with no more information, yet $7 less. What is even the point of calling them. I did send another email to the Consulate as well problem with that is they take 2-5 days to respond back. I know there was a member on here from the same Consulate that had the problem of every time she called the DOS and contacting the Consulate they were telling her there was no interview date for her to find out 3 days before her interview date that she did have one. This is why I have been trying to stay on top of things, as I can see how something like that can happen. SOOOOO FRUSTRATED right now.

Sorry to hear this reese1 sounds very much frustrating and I myself would have properly lost my cool as well especially NOT knowing the whereabouts of your file, and getting told different things.... In my opinion I would keep calling DOS and hoping to get a more helpful rep on the line with the possiblitlies of they telling me what I want to hear. (interview date).. Cause it don't not add up how on 10/29 pkg 3 was sent and then the rep tell you that she maybe someone did something in the system to finagle something????? No!! I would call back too see what happens...

Thanks Mrs. Sanchez, I called again to the DOS and was informed that something was sent out on 10/29 and it seems to be a packet 3 but they said they are aware that SD does not send packet 3.So they are not sure what it is and only the Consulate would know for sure and have any up to date info, and that they know the file was received electronically but can not confirm that they have the hard file so that is why they may not be able to see anything. I explained that did not sound correct as I had received an email confirming that the Consulate indeed had received my case and was going to be sending the interview packet out and that this email was on 10/26 3 days before they show something was sent out. They apologized and said that I need to contact the Consulate as they have the case now. Someone suggested that I should just go to the Consulate and see what they tell me, so it looks like we will be having a family outing to the Embassy on Monday. Hopefully I find out something this way. Sign...this process is stressful enough without all of the extra nonsenses.
