Long wait for packet 3 from Mumbai (Bombay), India

Anyone waiting for packet # 3 from Mumbai consulate? Mumbai consulate received our file from NVC on October 19th. There is no sign of packet 3 so far. I called USTRAVELDOCS several times, and no luck at all. Is there any other number that we can contact other than USTRAVELDOC's #? They are telling me to wait, but I do not want the mail to get lost and find out after a long wait..!! Anyone knows how long it will take for the Mumbai consulate to send out the packet # 3 once they receive the file from NVC?

You can download packet-3 from Mumbai Consulate Website yourself and send it to them.

OMG...thats sad...!! Keep our fingers crossed...!! I was hoping that he will get his VISA my Thanksgiving...then I was like atleast before Christmas..Now who knows when..!

Better thing is to ask FaceBook Page of Mumbai Consulate, you will hear directly fron Consulate Staff.

US Travel Docs knows nothing. Packet-3 is for K1 Visa only. If you get email you are going to get the same PDFs only, i think you can initiate yourself as other people do.

Take an initiative just don't wait for the packet 3 to arrive. It never arrived in my case thanks to VJ members, one of the member suggested me to download Packet 3 and send a courier to the Immigration Unit, Mumbai Consulate and it worked. Within a week I got my interview date, so I'd suggest you to do the same else you have to wait longer.

Where did u pay the visa fee $ 240?

We only have to send 156, 156K, 230 Part 1, right? Or 230 Part 2 too?

You don't have to pay the visa fees now.First up get an interview date then get the PCC and Medicals then before appearing for the interview go to any nationalized bank and get the Demand Draft done.

Now, things you need to send to the Mumbai Consulate -

1)DS 230 Part 1

2)DS156 ( Make sure you fill the form online and take a print out of it)

3)Packet 3 (Put a check mark where it is applicable) along with Applicant's Statement

Normally these 3 forms work but incase you wanna make ur packet look impeccable then do send -

4) DS2001 (Notification of Applicant's readiness)

5) A Cover letter (Mentioning ur case status and contact details bla bla)

Last but not the least you could send 2 photos (Follow packet 3 photo instructions)

Send it to the address mentioned in the Mumbai Consulate website and on top of it you gotta write, "IMMIGRATION UNIT"

You gotta carry DS156K and DS 230 Part II along with you when you appear in person for the interview.

That's it!! That's more than enough information for you..lol

Thank you so much for all the information..!! I forwarded all the info to my fiancé..he will send it tomorrow. He actually lives in Doha, Qatar for his work, and going to India by the end of this week. Now I think, I should have put in Qatar, instead Mumbai consulate. Probably in that way, he could have get his visa little faster. He already got his PCC from Indian embassy in Qatar, and the Qatar PCC .

Mumbai consulate processing speed is just like Vermont Visa center....!!
