Fact: You're upset Alaska is only worth 3 electoral votes.

Fact: The cold Alaskan air makes some things shrivel up.

Every single Hispanic person who voted for Obama did it because of the Dream Act and for no other reason? Right.

Republicans offer plenty free stuff to the 1%.

Not all people think it's normal. There are plenty narrow minded bigots who just want to hate other people because they are different. Different is anti-American right?

Poll: Latino Vote Devastated GOP Even Worse Than Exits Showed

According to Segura, the Latino vote provided Obama with 5.4 percent of his margin over Romney, well more than his overall lead in the popular vote. Had Romney managed even 35 percent of the Latino vote, he said, the results may have flipped nationally.

The effect was at least as dramatic in swing states, most notably in Colorado, which Obama won on Tuesday. There Latinos went for the president by an astounding 87-10 margin, an edge not far from the near-monolithic support he received from African American voters. In Ohio, with a smaller but still significant Latino population, Obama won by an 82-17 margin.

"This poll makes clear what we've known for a long time: the Latino Giant is wide awake, cranky, and its taking names," Eliseo Medina, Secretary-Treasurer of the SEIU, told reporters Wednesday on a conference call discussing the results.

Beyond the eye-popping margin of victory, the internal numbers helped explain why many of the Republican's efforts to deal with the problem fizzled in 2012. Romney tacked hard right on illegal immigration, recommending a policy of "self-deportation," but he hoped that by stressing his dedication to legal immigration he might mitigate the damage.

The reason that didn't work, according to the study, is that Latino citizens are too personally connected to undocumented residents to separate the issue. Some 60 percent of high propensity Latino voters say they know someone who is living in the country illegally.[/size]

Latino groups to Obama: You owe us, now pass the Dream Act

The national exit poll estimated that about 10 percent of those who voted in the presidential election identified as Hispanic, marking Latinos' highest-ever share of the electorate. Latinos backed Obama over challenger Mitt Romney a resounding 71 to 27 percent.

Gary Segura, a pollster for Latino Decisions and a professor at Stanford University, told reporters on Wednesday that he believes the exit poll understated Latinos' support for Obama by 4 points, and that the president actually won 75 percent of their vote.

Segura estimates that Latinos gave Obama an extra 2.3 percentage points in the popular vote. If Romney had managed to nab just 35 percent of Latinos, he would have won the popular vote, Segura said. (President George W. Bush captured at least that share of Latinos in 2000 and 2004, showing Republicans are backsliding with the group.)

Leaders of immigrant rights and Latino groups told reporters in a conference call on Wednesday that Obama owes his second term to Latino voters, and should repay them by passing comprehensive immigration reform. Obama promised to pass a law legalizing many of the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the country while he campaigned four years ago, and he's been chastised by Latino leaders for breaking his promise.

"Obama is going to return to the White House more energized to take these issues seriously," said Ben Monterroso, the director of Mi Familia Vota, a national organization that encourages Latinos to vote.

Eliseo Medina, secretary-treasurer of the Service Employees International Union, said Latino voters had sent a message to Obama. "We expect leadership on comprehensive immigration reform in 2013," he said. "To both sides we say: 'No more excuses.'"

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

These people are American citizens just like you. They have the right to vote for whoever they wish just like you do. They can vote for whatever reason they like just like you can. They voted for the winner unlike you. Obama is the president for another 4 years because the majority of American citizens who cast their vote voted for him. It doesn't matter whether they are white, black, hispanic, yellow or red. Gay or straight. Male or female. It doesn't matter where they were born or that they have different opinions to you. They are AMERICAN citizens and have the same rights as you. You are in the minority now. Not them.

blah blah blah. The Hispanics voted for him in record numbers for the fact he plans on giving them all a free ride in regards to US IMMIGRATION. Ya you know the immigration process you went through or are going through now. Well they don't have to bother with that. In fact try looking at these forums closer and you will notice that the legal visa process is going at a snails pace atm because of his free ride to ILLEGALS. So knowing that all of us here have the IQ above a peanut let's stick to reality.

This whole line of reasoning is specious. Democrats are inclusive; they fight for justice for ALL. Republicans are exclusive - justice for the very few at the expense of others (and name-calling and insults to the others too, just like in this forum).

I think inclusivity is the American way - in fact, it was one of the ideas this country was founded on. The Revolutionaries were fighting for rights for all people. Why don't modern republican "patriots" do the same?

My family/ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War along with the French - Indian War before that. I doubt they had a welfare system back then though.

Oh, I get it. You think brown people are all on welfare. I assure you that's not true.

The irony is there are more people on food stamps in red states than in blue. I don't want anyone to be on welfare, and I think there should be more emphasis on getting people off of welfare. Can we agree on that?

you really need to give your keyboard a rest and actually go out and get to know the people you're talking about. latinos deeply care about jobs and the economy. they care about sending their children to good schools. they are hard-working folks who go to church and try to raise their families the best they can. they also care about immigration, although not the way you portray it. most latinos support more secure borders and support a work visa program as much as they support obama's executive order or the dream act. they are not one-issue voters.

you're right. in the 'good ole days', debtors were thrown in prison, children worked, and people starved to death.

Funny, the left doesn't consider them AMERICANS - they consider them hyphenated-Americans. They like them to be segregated and not to be 'eqaul' 'Americans.'

Time that you naive little liberals realize that the party of the KKK (aka the Democratic Party) is alive and well still today. The biggest wool they've pulled over people's eyes and it's great.

Brown people? Why would you even bring that up? You know I didn't make it personal like you did when you brought up the fact my wife is younger than me and an immigrant....you know, that link you posted to that nifty video for no good reason. Ya that link harpo. And now you bring up "brown people" like I'm a racist.

The KKK switched allegiance, or did you magically fail to notice Rmoney did a lot for himself in the South? Seriously, your 'you don't think like me so your an idiot' rhetoric is a bit stale. I know you're upset you guy didn't win (cue the stale 'I am not a Republican' yada yada) but you're obviously in shock.

So, we know why you THINK that minorities voted for Obama. Or vote Democratic in general.

Why do you think that white people did not show up to vote for Romney in the numbers that he thought they would?

I don't know why. You keep telling us because they support issues that are important to them .What are they ?

Ok I will ask you also. What is it that Blacks and Latinos get from Obama they do not get from the Pubs. What specific issues are they ?

Many many Posts and still not one Liberal who said that Minorities voted for Obama because they support the issues that are important to them and listen to them. Not one Person has given me anything specific ?
