Feel free to look it up. Red states are southern states with large black populations, low incomes if any, and a lack of education.

But yes. It is true.

The ironic thing, Evylin, is that Republicans built their party in recent years on social issues, so I am not sure who says they don't matter (the same Republicans who started it?). For instance, the whole idea of "moral majority" is a conservative idea to get people who don't understand anything about politics to vote for a certain candidate based on some single issue that they do understand (but of course don't consider all ramifications thoroughly), like abortion.

Great point and spot on. good.gif

Most people who benefit from food stamps or government assistance live in red states.

Do you know what the word "percentage" means? Google it if you don't. Find out the total population of the United States of America, and then break the welfare down by percentages. So what you want to do is figure out the total population of a race in the USA, find out what percentage they make of the total population and then find out what the percentage of them are on welfare. Once you do that then none of us here will ever have to suffer through a post like the one I'm quoting now.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

No, once again you are so much smarter than I am and I'm in awe of your presence and abundance of knowledge.

Oregon is number 2 in food stamps, only passed by Mississippi. :rofl:

The top-10 list for states with the highest hunger rates includes the GOP strongholds of Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Louisiana. More than half of those states are as red as they come.

My parents and many other minorities parents couldnt struggle to put us through college cause you need a decent paying job to at least be able to struggle with. Since you have not been on the other end of the stick you dont understand what it feels like to walk in an interview and get the " nope not hiring this ###### look on peoples face. You dont understand how it feels to get educated, speak foreign languages, speak clearly and act nice and decent but still be hated and discriminated against because of the one thing you cant change. No my father wasnt going to join the military in the 40s. That was asking for more racism than what he would deal with on the streets. He did pay for my mom to get her two year in computer programing. After all the ####### she went through, stares, teachers not wanting to answer her questions or give her any help, wheb she graduated no one would give her an opportunity to show her skills. She was even told once they would never hire a ######.

As for me my surgery would not get me cleared for the military.

Say what you want but you will never understand what some people have to go through. A typical republican would blame the individual looking to get the education instead of the society that continues to hold people back.

@ bad daddy

@karl marx

Sad when people would rather have a society full of uneducated people instead of one full of people taking the risk and trying to educate themselves. This is why our country still stands divided instead of united.
