Hi! I didn't send any photo or relationship evidence to NVC (other than our marriage certificate)...I only sent it to USCIS for the I-130. All the photos and relationship evidence I have has now been put in a notebook binder for my husband to show at the interview. The only evidence I sent to NVC was evidence regarding tax returns and evidence proving I maintain a permanent residence in the US (I'm living in Egypt now).

Hope this helps!

Uncle Darnell say YES! submit more evidence with the DS-230.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I should have said in my above post...that even though I didn't send any photos to NVC...doesn't mean you can't still send them. It's always better to be safe than sorry. And it certainly can't hurt to send in extra things they don't require/ask for :)

ya, it's been a while since filing the I-130, right?

during that time you've amassed more relationship evidence.

Since yer headed to Egypt, it's a great idea to put more relationship evidence INTO the casefile,

and you are allowed so to do with the DS-230.

It'll take an additional week to 10 days at NVC, but (IMO) it's so worth it, as now the evidence is IN the casefile, and the Visa Officer / Consular Official can review it prior to interview day.

IMO, more evidence is a great thing.

all the docs are scanned into the SAFEFILE system at NVC, an electronic database used by NVC and the IV unit.

More docs? More time for scanning.

UmBrighton and Darnell thank you very much , but Darnell why would it take more time at NVC as you mentioned ?

I so agree with Uncle Darnell here.

Coming from the embassies we will go through it is best to load up a full arsenal. Look at it this way, Do you feel looking at what you submitted the CO can deduce you are in a bonafide relationship? Think of the past and the present. Only you know that. This stranger is going to make a decision based on what they have in ther hands. And as many CO's have told people who have gone before them "The interview is not for presenting evidence". They may ask at interview of stuff they may not. And what if they don't and you had in that suitcase of stuff what could have given you an Approval.

Hate to be a downer but we aren't going through Canada or UK. We have heighten scrutuny for the mere fact who we married and where they live.

Being delayed at NVC is really not that big a deal and I know someone who submitted 7 lbs of evidence at the NVC level and she was completed with in 2 weeks. No delay really. 7 lbs of evidence!!:o (Oh they were approved last week).

Hello Darnell

I filed I-130 for my spouse back in 2010 and after 2 years of waiting and RFE, I finally got NOA2 on Oct 12, 2012. In response to RFE, I mailed back in may 2012, around 6 pounds of docs and pics.Currently, my case is at NVC and already paid AOS fees and just mailed I-864 to them. I am still waiting for the acceptance of Ds-3032 form.

Based on your above response, since I aleady sent all the requested documents to USCIS in response to RFE, will the USCIS mail those docs and pics to NVC? if so, will NVC scan those pics and docs and e-mail it to the consulate? If no, after I pay IV bill, should I mail the IV package together with another docs and pics as a proof of our continuation of our relationship? Does US consular knows that USCIS sent me RFE and I responded to it?

I look 4ward to hear from u.

can u explain tome what is RFE? wish documents did u send plz i have just send AOS and ds230 but what is RFE??

RFE is request for evidence. Before your petition get approved, USCIS will send u RFE ( request for evidence) and you have to respond to it within 60 days (ie. photos before and and after marriage, airline tickets, flight itineraries, hotel reservation, wedding ring reciepts and etc. RFE in NVC stage is any missing documents like divorce or marriage certificate etc

It can be anything missing also in your document. I have seen RFE for no signature, wrong dates. the dates on that DS-230 about where you lived since age 16 is very very important. It can be a multiplicity of things.
