I was reading that we need a certified translation of the birth certificate which we have as we sent originally when we filed back in March.

However now we have interview coming up and I only have this copy of this translation. Do we need a new certified signed translation or is a copy sufficient?

Anyone knows about this?

Miguel.

We are in process for CR-1 but in this question you have we suspect it is the same answer. The US Consular Officers at the Moscow Embassy all speak, read, and write Russian. They will accept her Birth Certificate without translation if in Russian. It is NOT required to have this translated for the Interview. But..you will probably want this done (and Notarized) at some point. Her International Passport will support her identity anywhere but what is to consider is for the purposes of if you plan to have children and the medical system wants birth certificates for you and your Wife. Translation may save some problems down the road for you. It is also a good idea to have all her Medical records you can get and later translate them (if not already done). We used an American translation company and I asked for Notarization from an American Notary only because this eliminates any possible questions on the part of the American side. Take the copy of the Translation with you but you will be fine without it because you are now working with people who are fluent in Russian at the Embassy. We plan to take everything imaginable to our Interview and if not needed or requested it is not a big deal. Best wishes and please let us know your experiences at the Embassy.
