I BOOKED A FLIGHT ON DEC 17, MY TRAVEL AGENCY IS ST. RAPHAEL TRAVEL AND TOURS, my airlines is eva air. I contact the agency thru Yahoo Messenger, which their ym are posted on their website. So i ask the agency to book me on any days from Dec 16-30 that cost cheapier fare. So they gave Dec 17.. Eva air. i paid the fare using Dollars. which cost $765. Then i go to there Agency Located at Ortigas Avenue,Green Hills San Juan, they already prepared the ticket, because i gave the copy of my passport and visa earlier. Since i'm a firt time immigrant, i did n't notice that there's seat no.. they just discussed the routes, baggage limits, taxes, not the seat no.. So i thought it was already Fine, they gave me the E-TICKET RECEIPT which contains in a envelope with a receipt of Agency.. After the transaction, when i'm going home, i realized that the seat no. is CheckIn Required i dunno what is mean but the status is Confirmed. My brother told me that it could be a scam, because St. Raphael Travel and Tours is just a small company. and there were only few people i think just six people on the small room and it is inside in the Condominium building and they don't have a banner outside. So i feel scared on that time, but my brother saw that they have a Permit No. , Before we go home we find a nearby Net Cafe. and search to verify if i'm really booked or not. I went to Eva Air website, and i found that there is a Online Check-in i try to put the Airline Reservation Code and my lastname and Firstname, and Thanks God it Confirmed.. i thought it was a scam.. But my problem is how do iknow my Seat No. if its check-in required? So i checked-in the are notes that should have check-in at Dec 16 before the travel day. Should I check-in on my self or The airport will going to check-in my seat no?? I'M cONFUSED

Check in required means exactly that. You can check in at the airport or online within 24 hours of your flight. Once you check in they will assign your seat number. When you check in at the airport and they take your luggage, they will give you a paper ticket with the gate information, boarding time, seat number, etc.

Just get to the airport with plenty of time and ask when you get to the counter of anything you are unsure about. It all sounds just fine and normal to me.

Have a great flight! :star:

You'll get your seat assignment upon checking in. If you are concerned about reserving a seat prior to your checkin date, you may want to contact EVA air or see if you can go to their local office in Philippines and perhaps talk to service person and have them assign a seat for you if it's within their capacity to do so. Prior to arriving at the airport make sure to bring enough money for your Terminal Fee(550-750 Php) and additional fees like the Filipino Travel tax if your prepurchased ticket hasn't covered that already (1620 Php) Also check with your airline to make sure you know your baggage restriction(s) and limitation(s)

Did the travel agent include the exit fee of Php 1,620 in the price of the ticket? If not make sure to bring money for that along with the Php 550 terminal fee.

If you enter the terminal at the right side doors there is usually a large crowd, those are OCW and they are going in another door so you need ot move through (around) them to get to the terminal entrance doors. If the exit fee was not included in the cost of the ticket the counter to pay for that is just inside the terminal between the two entrance doors at the front.

Safe travels

It is not uncommon to have seat assigned at airport so you're quite okay. Sometimes it is due to number of passengers or in this case maybe your travel agent could not see the seats. Not to worry just get use to a long wait at the counter  Advanced Welcome the USA!

This particularly agency does. It saves us on the exchange rate. We have still have to pay for the terminal fee of 550 pesos though.

From what you are telling me, it also saves time because of the line.

I am using the same travel agency. Check in required for most tickets even though the ticket is confirmed. I checked with DTI to make sure that the travel agency is legitimate. Most small businesses are in a small room anyway. So I am not surprised by your description. According to their website, they have been around since 1995. In regards to the seat no., you can pick the seats on the website. They usually give you access about 48 hours before your departure. Have a safe trip! Welcome to the US! :)
