Yeah I have paid her over 5000 dollars I renewed it in November and she made me pay just the government fees which is 380. But now I am suppose to start a new job and left all my information in my purse license social EAD card and credit cards, I've been crying off and on all day because I don't know what I'm going to do now:( , and the lawyer told me that I had to reapply even though its not expired and pay her the lawyer fees which is 500 plus the government fees!!!! I'm so frustrated!

Sorry to hear about that CC1988. Go file a police report and take it to the Social security office. They should be able to replace it for you. I am not sure what you need to do about the EAD though.

Cc1988 send copy of the police report showing your work permit was stolen and apply again, just tell your lawyer you will file form I-765.It's easy and you can do by yourself. If you can't pay the fees submit form I-912(fee waiver) along with form I-765. If your husband is american and your vawa wasn't approved yet then use in your form I-765 category C9 and submit form I-912 as well, and submit a copy of any document showing they issued before a work permit, do not forget to send along with the forms 2 passport pictures.

Thank you I appreciate it! My lawyer just hasn't been very helpful lately, and I honestly don't mind paying the 380 but I don't feel like I should have to pay her for something that is so simple for her to do especially $500! Will they take copies of the paper stating that my I-765 was approved and that it expires not until October 2013? I have a copy of the card front and back and have my A number.

I did call the cops as soon as I found out. :(

Cc1988 you have to file Form I-765 to replace an EAD. Here is what you have to submit to Uscis.

-Write a letter to USCIS explaining how your EAD was stolen;

-Uscis fees or I-912;

-submit 2 passport pictures with the A# and name written on the back(write with pencil your name);

-photocopy of your current EAD as well ;

-copy of Passport (which has Bio-graphic data);

-copy of I-94 Departure Record (both sides);

-Copy of your I-485 receipt notice ;

- certified copy of the Form I-797 D (from last EAD);

Check the box “Replacement (of lost employment authorization document".

gabrielvawa if your wife is an US Citizen then file form I-765, choose employment category C9 and send to Vawa Unit, use this category just if you are still waiting decision of your Vawa case ok.

In your case choose the option RENEWAL OF MY PERMISSION TO ACCEPT EMPLOYMENT. If you can't pay Uscis fees then file form I912 and mention you don't have any savings or assets,and submit along with these documents

-Uscis fees or I-912;

-submit 2 passport pictures with the A# and name written on the back(write with pencil your name);

-photocopy of your current EAD as well ;

-copy of Passport (which has Bio-graphic data);

-copy of I-94 Departure Record (both sides);

-Copy of your I-485 receipt notice ;

- certified copy of the Form I-797 D (from last EAD);
