Bless me Uscis require proof of bonafide marriage and one of the Uscis memorandum states that you show bonafide marriage with commingling finances(joint bank account, joint tax return, joint credit card etc) and commune residence (utilities bills in name of both, ID of both showing same address, letter received showing same address etc)without proving that the chance to have a Vawa approved is small.

In your case you had a relationship with him for two years before you got married, did you send proof of that?did you explain in your affidavit why you didn't have joint bank account, joint tax return, health insurance, car insurance and bills in your name? the affidavit is DAMN important. It won't convince them just with your affidavit and proof of the violence, but at least can help them to understand why you didn't have commingling finances and commune residence.
