Domi-nique as soon you get your approval letter then you can file form I-485 and I-765, and file it with the USCIS Vermont Service Center. If you can't afford to pay the fees file form I-912 and explain you don't have any savings, assets and ask them to waive the fees. Specify how much you are paying in rent, food, transportation, telephone, basic needs etc.

When filing form I-765 pay attention if your Vawa was approved with deferred action or not, if your Vawa has been granted deferred action then file form I-765 using category ( c ) (14 )otherwise put category ( C ) (31).

Domi-nique once Vawa Unit approve the Vawa petition they will transfer the file to the district office for interview on the I-485, it might take 2/4months. NVC processes the files for aliens approved for green cards who presently live outside the US . The physical exam is valid just for 1 year hen you have to do all over again, and fingerprints as well.

Domi-nique just Vermont was adjudicating Vawa cases, but they started transferring some files to Nebraska.

Loveme most of my cases they had AOS interview between 60 to 90 days after their Vawa approval, and I have a bunch of interviews set up in Jan and Feb 2013 and their Vawa cases were approved in November and December. Some cases is taking long time because they are reviewing something or finishing background checks, but most of the cases they are processing as usual.

Sandranj,

I am waiting for their response on my RFE regarding good moral.

Anyway, I have questioned about I 485 and I 765. Should I apply them now with my pending I 360 for 17 months? Will it take another year of waiting for I 485 ( if my vawa ever approved) ?

What would be processing time for I 485 if filed after Vawa approved?

Butternfireflies you if submited in the past form I-485 and they put a hold in your AOS then you just need to file form I-765,but if you never submited form I-485 or they denied in the past you can submit now both forms if want.If you can't afford to pay the fees ask them to waive the fees filing form I-912.Your case probably will bE adjudicated in 60/90 days. Some people are waiting to attend the AOS interview 5,7months,but as i said yesterday i have some Vawa cases approved in Nov and Dec, 2012 and they will have interview in Jan and Feb,2013.
