I have been waiting for 18 months now! At first the website said it would take 14 months now it says 16 hopefully I get an answer as soon as they receive My RFE :/

Guys and girls if you have a lawyer and he/she tried several times to communicate with Vawa Unit and until now Vawa Unit didn't answer her/his inquiry and the problem persists then ask your lawyer tomorrow to submit a "liaison inquiry through the AILA VSC liaison assistance", and believe me this time they will answer your lawyer. Your lawyer must be member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. You can't send your liaison inquiry to vawa unit just your lawyer ok.

I dont know who said the time for vawa vermont center was changed to 16 months? ..thats an old story...It is 19 months! im getting crazy!

Hey peanutbutter,

I know, they should speed things up. I know there's a girl who got approved within 4 months. She filed September or October 2012, I think, and she just got approved couple weeks ago. I don't know what factor helps speed things up. Maybe because she had a good lawyer? Her family was rich so they sent her lots of money. She paid over 5000$ for one of the state's best lawyer and got approved within a really short time. She said they arranged her file really neat, there was only 1 RFE and she was approved. I'm so jealous I wish I had 5000$ to spare T___T

I applied in the beginning of August of 2011 I filed pictures and had to go to a psychiatrist . And letters from people that I had told about my problems. My parents paid for my lawyer it was 5000 . I received my biometric appointment about a month later and in October 2011 I received my workers permit. I have had to renew my prima paper twice. Last month 12/12 they asked for more evidence stating me and my husband had started living together right after the wedding. My last lawyer appointment was a week ago. She is sending off my evidence and I guess I'm just waiting now again......

I am sending my I 360 Petition this friday. I am filling my I 485 and I 765 also. What is the fee that i have to send. Do i just send the fee for I 485 or i have to pay the fee for I 765 also. Because i checked on USCIS website that if i file I 485 and i 765 together than there is no fee for I 765.

Pleas help. My Lawyer says its my call what i want to do . I am really short on Money and that is why i wanna make sure.

You can file a fee waiver. If you file them you wouldn't have to pay a dime for filing. You'd have to prove that your income is low, and you have lots of expenses you have to pay (bills in your name, rent receipts, etc.), if you have no income just put family's fund. Your lawyer actually have to be the one filing it for you... My lawyer did everything. I didn't really have to do any filling, I just had to check if everything was correct.

Hi guys: since vawa is died, there will be no more illusion, we need make our own first 1 million dollars to apply EB-2 business immigration. Good luck for those people who got their vawa approved, bad luck for the guys like me waiting for nearly two years for nothing. For me, vawa just like my two years old baby, looking at her every day in the past two years, but still gone without traces. sad! hope to see more survivors coming out, may God bless all vawa prayers, so far 13000 cases are pending in VSC, the average process time rises to 19 months from 8 months two years ago. I donot think US government will take this burden too long, cost too much tax payers money. it doesnot supposed to be this way, in 2010 only 3000 vawa cases totally in VSC, now it is getting overload. God!

Youngseattle vawa act is alive and effective.The new provision/changes didn't pass the house but the old provision is still valid.In your case as I said before you need a miracle to have your case approved and sometimes miracles happens,but I think what you are trying to do is something your wife has to do for herself.She has an addiction and i don't believe your presence will change that at all.In order for her to become clean she has to put lots of effort,check in some rehab at least for 5months and then she will have a chance to be free of the drugs. We all know that drugs can bring some weird behavior in some people but it doesn't mean all drug users are abusers.Your wife besides the rehab she should look for counseling to manage her anger otherwise will be in vein her effort otherwise she will be clean and with anger issues.Regarding your vawa because you told to Uscis that you will return to live with your wife again i think your chance to have the vawa approved is almost zero.I wish you the best.

I got this letter in the mail..

This is to advise you in order to speed up processing we have transferred the above case to the following USCIS office for processing

USCIS -NBC, po box 648005, lee's summit MO 64064

That office will notify you of the decision made on the application or petition ....

It says more but what r guys think about the beginning of the letter .. Please help please help

If you have not received the decision within 14 days of the date above, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

Akumu your work permit will be denied.In order for Uscis approve the work permit you MUST have a I-485 pending or submit I-485 along with forms I-360 or have a vawa approved. You made a mistake applying to get work pemit.If you really need to work then you have to file form I-485 as well but now you have to wait because if you file now I-485 your foorm won't be there on time for uscis approves your I-765.
