I want to ask a question as now they block vawa so that means they will putt hold on our cases or they will still work on our cases.i am confused what will going to happen in future???

Hey don't worry they'll still work on your case. From what I learned during Congress' discussion they let the reauthorization die, but VAWA is still alive. They'll continue provision from 2005, nothing will change. I'm just disappointed that they didn't include the extended categories because they also need help. :(

11/14/2012: I-360, I-485, I-765 filed.
11/15/2012: VSC received.
11/19/2012: Receipt notice for I-360, I-485, and I-765. (All fees waived).
11/26/2012: Biometric appointment notice for 12/14/2012
11/28/2012: EAD approved. Card sent. Yay!!!
11/30/2012: EAD card arrived. Went back to my job smile.png
12/14/2012: Biometrics taken. Easy process.
12/15/2012: RFE for good moral character. (Initially sent city police clearance.)
12/16/2012: Replied RFE for good moral character with state-wide police clearance.
12/20/2012: VSC received RFE reply. Case status: RFE response review.
01/02/2013: Prima Facie determination established.
01/07/2013: Prima Facie received in hand (hard copy).
08/06/2013: I-360 APPROVED!!!! Heck yeah!!!!

Now waiting for my turn to go to the GC interview :) Wish me luck!

Today I participated in the conference hosted by Human Rights Watch, American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and some USCIS officers were there as well. Vawa cases will be adjudicated like before, then life goes on.

Today they discussed if your lawyer will file form I-360,I-765 and I-485 he/she must file one G-28(Notice of Entry of Appearance)for EACH ONE of the forms.

Many aliens changed their address with Uscis and despite that USCIS didn't update the address in their system, the alien besides filing form AR11 online must send a a notarized letter to VAWA UNIT communicating the new address.

Yay! I can sleep soundly tonight! I've been worried even though I heard from Congress about VAWA's validity, 2nd source of information is great reinforcement. I will also update any info I heard from Congress also.

Btw Sandranj, I believe you had more experience in VAWA than any other immigration lawyers around my state. I trusted my lawyer, she was really specific in what she wanted me to provide as proof, but she was very busy with other cases.

I wonder, from the look of my process and from my statement above, what are the chances that I got? I know some people even have shared expenses and such. I was making more money than my husband because he didn't have a college degree, so I paid most of the bills.

He broke my laptop so I can only submit 2 pictures of me and him with the pastor who married us. The rest would be marriage certificate, shared lease agreement, shared bank account, car insurance policy. Some bills that was in his name sent to our address. Some utility bills in my name sent to our address.

Is that enough proof?

survivor2012 the proof you have for bonafide marriage is enough. Check with your friends and family maybe you sent them some pictures and they still have pictures of your husband and you together. Get some affidavits from friends stating that your relationship was genuine, and if they know about the violence suffered ask them to mention as well.In the affidavit they must put date and place of birth, address and phone number ok.

Your affidavit is one of the most important pieces.Do not submit more than 10/12 pages. Describe briefly how you met him, got engaged and married and take your time describing ALL abuse suffered(mental and physically). You should mention not just his behavior but your reaction due the abuse suffered such as fear, shame, embarrassment, degradation, humiliation, sleepness and mention if you felt undeserving, unworthy, felt guilty etc.
